School's out and I DESPERATELY wanted to go to a beach and bake for 8 of my 10 days, but the piggy bank cried "wee wee wee" on funds. Determined, I grabbed my laptop and decided to give my WA account some love and attention from now on so NEXT break I'll be on a beach with an endless fruity grown-up juice glass in my hand....

Last Friday I was ranked 7500ish. Over the week so far I: did a few lessons; got a new domain; followed some new members; did a few blogs; logged on some WA sites; made mad comments and support references to the community; worked on my content for the new site...

TODAY I logged on and WOW ranked 1365! [cue the happy dancing music and wave your hands in the air]

I'm trying to get in the habit of logging on each morning as part of my new "WAke up" routine and build a little more success. Feels pretty good and I still have 3.5 days of vaca (or should I say WAca ;P

That's great, Michelle. I certainly know the feeling.

Wayne

Great!
Continue your great job and you will move forward
faster.

Ingrid

Sounds like you are doing great. Just keep moving forward. Beach vacation next year for sure.

Hi Michelle.

It's great that you want to wake up and help out in the WA community, but I'd wager £££s that you didn't join WA to climb up the rankings. I'd wager you joined up to get an online business up and running and making you bucks so that you can spend more time on the beach. I'd win too, because you've said as much in your blog.

Have you visited your competitors' sites? How much content are they spewing out daily and have you matched or beaten them?

Believe me, I've only just realised today that I have more WA blog posts (8) than I do in my online business (3).

That's going to change starting NOW! ☹️

Regards,

Hi Tayo,
The reason I was so hyped about helping and seeing the changes in ranking was it felt like moving forward.

I haven't been able to get all into the lessons online to maximize my being able to get online with a great website as yet. I seem to get stuck on making the sites look decent. I don't know I used to build sites in the early days of webmastering (late 80s mid 90s) from the ground up with Adobe (Dreamweaver, FrontPage and Photoshop) Now I can't figure out the WYSIWYG ease of WordPress. I think I'm over thinking.

I'm a Truant Officer/Attendance Teacher in the big city and it gets pretty depressing sometimes to see kids just tossing their education aside for drugs, sex, alcohol, friends or more often these days... nothing at all. They just seem to exist in a state of ennui. Crick-necked and claw-fingered from their life on their cellphones. Barely looking up to have a few words with you.

I have looked at many sites of WAers and wonder how they did it.
I'm also trying to finish up an MSc in Education which has me so bored to tears! But I need it for work.

At the moment things are... well not optimal and time spent on WA seems like a luxury because I'm so stressed to have so many other things done, or should be doing.

Someone posted some stats that only a single digit percentile have real success here at WA and that felt like a bucket of cold water on the journey. But i like what I learn here. I sometimes see it as my digital "War and Peace" which used to sit on my nightstand, or any of the other "100 books-you-must-read". I don't want to but I know it'll be good for me.

Good luck on your own journey here at WA. Hope to see your amazing websites soon!

"Someone posted some stats that only a single digit percentile have real success"
What's that got to do with you? Be determined that you are going to be in that single digit!
Let me give you a rundown of where I should be, but where I'm not:
1. Write content for my websites
2. SEO my new article
3. Use SE Ranking results to see what my website needs looking at
4. Use Nibble to see what my website needs looking at
5. Check out Google analytics, Search Console & Bing dashboard
6. Engage social media to drive traffic to my website
a. Pintererst
b. Instagram
c. YouTube
i. Make video
ii. Re-record parts of the video for quality
iii. Edit video to increase production value
d. Twitter—tweet on competitor's twitter (needs a business account)
e. Facebook (I don't even have an account!)
7. Start or continue email campaigns
8. Check out keywords my competitors are using with SpyFu, and plan a new article to research
9. Come and do my training here in WA
10. Read and respond to blog posts here in WA (it's like self-serviced training, you never know what you're going to learn. From blogs I've learnt:
a. plugins to use in WordPress
b. tools to use to help with SEO
c. great attitudes to adopt:
i. actions lead to results—stop talking about it, just do it
ii. never mind being perfect, get it complete. _Then_ get it perfect
iii. Seek the "No". Stop being afraid to ask. Actively go out and fearlessly look for the word 'No'. Be pleasantly surprised and amazed when I get a 'Yes', but don't let an opportunity to hear 'No' pass me by.

I don't know about you, but I suspect that most people here aren't doing anything like that. I haven't even mentioned product review for true affiliate sites (which mine is not).

I think, if you take the training and follow a regime close to that outlined above, you're **bound** to make a fist of it.

"Good luck on your own journey here at WA"
The same to you, dear Michelle.
