In 1997 college buddy of mine told me he knew some people at Stanford who wanted to make a new search engine. He encouraged me to go online and help them with their "beta test" period. Always wanting to help up and coming people I logged on to find a white page with a search box in the middle and a childlike name in primary colors as the title. They called themselves "google". I really liked it. The yahoo and AOL style of search was like asking for directions in Times Square at the height of tourist season. Loud, too many ads, usually wrong and mostly incomprehensible. Google changed the way I used the internet to find resources as a new single mom. When I got the invite to try out their "gmail" I took an address for our family to use and we still have it today. I've always wanted to work online, but I've never been able to figure it out. And those who "offer" to help always seem to be pushing their scam. I've lost more than I care to admit to people who wanted to scam. I'm not looking for overnight money trees to grow on my laptop. That's in the realm of Grimm Brothers and their gang. Just as I think you need to put in effort for anything worth having (love, relationships, home, food,) business is certainly one of them. I hope WA is the place that helps me find my WAy.
UPDATE: I've had my membership for less than a month, and it's such a great environment to learn in! To anyone who I've followed who has followed me back Thank You for the support. I tried at the beginning to thank each person as they posted but quickly fell behind as the numbers grew so rapidly! But I do thank each one for making me feel so welcome and good about my investment... now where were you guys and your great advice when google went public with shares.... ;)
MSinfosvg's Goals 3
I'd be happy netting 120K each year.
I'd be end-zone dancing with 480K in my fishing net.
I need 8 hours of sleep to feel my best and function at optimum and at least 4 for meals with my kiddo getting to his games/concerts/school activities and/or our ritual watching of Masterchef, Property Brothers and Game of Thrones (he's a HS senior). Sunday is my day to say thank you to God for the previous 144 hours and get ready for the next 144. So building my business can have 60 or more of the 72 hours that isn't scheduled. Currently my "job" eats up way more that that break down and lots of hours I get things done for work aren't "on the clock". I need to find a way to work smarter. I think the tools of technology can help me to do just that.
