Perception is EVERYTHING (or at least at the top of the list)!

A Rose is has a smell that is considered well-rounded with regard to Aromatherapy. The rose is revered all over the world as a symbol of love and beauty.

The Rose looks elegant

The Rose has an exquisite aroma

The Rose has hips (gives birth to Vitamin C)

The Rose has oil that is known as the "Queen of Oils"

The Rose has thorns that protect it and can HURT the picker's fingers

These things cause you to both admire and respect it The Rose.

However, to possess the Rose, your PERCEPTION of whether it will bring you joy or pain will determine the path you take.

If you perceive the Rose as a thing of painful trials, you will never truly possess the whole beauty of it. Even if you manage to somehow HOLD it for a moment.

If you perceive the Rose as a thing of elegance and the thorns as mere obstacles that you are willing to navigate...not only can you get to the Rose, you will enjoy the challenge of the thorns and the smell of the possession of the WIN.

This is the same when it comes to opportunities in life. Sometimes, we have to keep our tired eyes open, our weary back straight, our sleepy brain, alert. Sometimes...we just HAVE to keep on going.

It's called "Going through pain in order to enjoy the pleasure". Why? Because we want THE ROSE and we percieve 'The Rose is WORTH IT!'

What is your Rose? What is your perception about acquiring it?

Some nice thoughts here, Patricia!

Hi Patricia,

Each winter and a couple of times in the summer I have roses to prune. When you do this you create a relationship with the rose. In spring you see a blush on the stem where the new bloom will sprout.

In pruning we take away most of the rose. The flowers arrive from within the plant itself.

So our roses are already within us. We just need to prune them, nurture them, keep them watered. They will flower in their time and flower again. A source of ongoing beauty.

Thanks

I am so happy to read your reply. I love it!

I have rose bushes all around the perimeter of my home. I am always clipping the dead heads but I never knew how to prune them. So, your reply is in response to me sending out a message to the Universe and asking for the answer you gave me. Thank You! Never knew that the flowers arrive from WITHIN the plant. That explains a lot.

Thanks again for your reply. Very insightful perspective!
