Cancer Survivor

I am a black woman 55 years old who is a cancer survivor. In 2013 I was having problem with swallowing and I also had a cough that just would not go away and a burning in my throat that was none stop. Little did I know my life was getting ready to take on a change that I was not prepared for. I went to a clinic here in the town that I live in to see a Doctor and I was diagnosed as having problems with my esophagus. So I left the Doctor's office thinking everything was okay a week later the same same problems that I was having before had gotten worse. I was working the late shift at a nursing home one night and one of my co-workers was a RN so I was just chatting with her and something told me to tell her about my problems that I was having and so I did. Anyway, my co-worker looked at me and said, "have you ever been to an (ENT Doctor? Ear, Nose and Throat . I told her no I have not." So I decided to go and see a ENT Doctor that was 29 miles from my home. The day of the visit believe it or not was October 31, 2013. Every year since then when October 31, come around I think like, "wow I survived another year." But there is a lot more to this story I could go on and on for days, weeks, months and years about it. So now if you would like to share your story or learn more about mine contact me and I will try my best to respond to you as soon as possible.

Hi Berdia, thank you for liking my comment. I have CLL. I'll let you look it up, but it is a blood cancer. Currently I do not need medication for it. My doctor told me not to worry about it until she starts to worry about it. I see her once every six months. I would be interested in knowing your story. Maybe we can give each other comfort if needed. If you are smoking, please stop. I lost my soul mate to lung cancer, and she was a smoker. I have lost too many people I love to cancer. I will pray for your recovery, and that it goes away permanently. ~ Chuck

Hi,

I am also recovering from a squamous cell carcinoma, I was operated in mid January of this year.

I am working on a site about my experience, when it is more completed I will share the link with the WA community.

All the best,

Miguel

Ms Berdia,

You have had a wake up call. Now that you know the dangers of smoking and hopefully have quit I am sure that here at WA you will be able to create a better future life?

I recently lost my soulmate Jennifer on 24th April 2015 and am still unable to live as before without her everlasting love for me and me for her.

She was a widow who lost her husband 20 years before she too died she from a short illness, him also due to smoking and drinking. We shared almost 7 years of perfect bliss together.

Her spirit called out my name before I left my home to visit her where she lived so when I found her I already knew she had died and was unable to bring her back despite all my efforts at CPR.

I am following you now and hope you might follow me back?

Stephen & Jennifer.

Stephen, I lost my soul mate in 1992 to lung cancer. She was a smoker. The void has been irreplaceable. So I know how you feel. I am truly sorry for your loss. ~ Chuck

You have a great way with words. Im am so happy for your healing. You definitely should turn this into your message!!!

Very happy to hear of your survival! I've known many who waited until it was too late for them. One who comes to mind is a lifelong friend named John whom I had known from childhood. About 8 years ago John had symptoms similar to yours, along with severe bouts of abdominal pain. Doctors diagnosed colon cancer and he underwent chemo & surgery. His prognosis wasn't good because he waited too long to see a doctor and it had gone into the lymphatic system. John passed away 3-1/2 years ago and I still miss him. He was 54 when he died.

Thanks for sharing and please do continue to take care of yourself, and good luck in all of your online business efforts. Nowhere to go from here except up! :)

I am sorry to hear about your friend and also, thank you for your kind words it really does make my day much easier. Keep watching because there will be more. I felt like this would be a good way to share my story and hopefully make money at the same time.
