Why is getting comments going downhill?!
Hi everyone,
If you're not feeling negativity you should stop reading now because I don't have much good to say today. I'm feeling very frustrated!
First off 4 out of 5 people in my house are sick. Yup, I'm the last one trying to get by and take care of everyone, walking around with my can of Lysol like Sheldon on the big bang theory. That's my real life problems right now but I've got some WA problems right now too.
My site health is going down because I haven't requested comments in quite a while and now I know why. I've had problems getting good comments through site comments because it seems there's a certain few people who just mass copy/paste these generic comments where you can tell they probably didn't even open your page to so much as TRY to give you a proper comment.
I was sick of going through people's websites and giving them proper comments to earn credits only to end up
wasting them on stuff like "hey, great post. This has been very helpful. I will share it with my friends." What the hell is that?! I don't want to approve it and have that on my website. It looks like I paid someone to go through my website to give useless comments to get some views. I don't like working that way!
So last night I decided to go to the "need website comments? Give and take" discussion. Obviously another mistake on my part because I left at least 5 people comments on their websites, let them know that I did and asked if they could repay the favor. A few told me they did and when I checked I only had 1 comment and it wasn't even from anyone who told me they had left me a comment!
Now I've exhausted all the ways on WA to get comments only to be left fed up and frustrated! How am I supposed to get my site health back up when I need comments but can't get any? Nothing that makes sense anyway, because as I said I'm not going to start approving generic comments that have nothing to do with my content.
Anyway, rant over I guess. I could probably go on for a while but I'm not planning on writing a book here.

I am very sorry to hear those members you commented on their sites did not return the favor, I usually comment on some websites most days so if you send me your recent article I will be more than happy to leave a comment.
Give the comments page more time, I am on there most days but I don't think I have ever seen your comment request

I'm taking a break from seeking for comments right now. Just going to concentrate on writing more content for now.

First of all, I pray everyone in your home get healed of their sicknesses.
Secondly, You got me smiling with your rants.
People give useless Comments these days... Although I have been offering Comments for say 3 months now. This month I slowed down because I have everything I need to work on my website.
The give and take session isn't effective as the Site Comments feature.
I guess you'd have to use SiteComments and disapprove any comments you don't like.
Secondly, persuade your readers to leave comments on your posts.

I've decided to just take a break from trying to get comments for now as it's not as important as content so I'm going to continue with that.

Melissa, I understand your frustration, the site comments are really sometimes horrible and I rewrote many of them.
I can suggest you if you ever need a comment, PM me and we can exchange comments. I've done that with a few members and it always worked well.
This way we always get quality comments, not just some sentences copied and pasted from our posts.

You are right Jeff and I also feel the need of having parts of my work done by others more and more because I can never manage everything on my own. With my big goals I have to focus on writing content, not spending hours on pictures and SEO for videos, and such things.
But being a solopreneur usually makes you do everything if the earnings are not high to have extra money to spend on outsourcing.

That is why I sold all my other websites and I just am promoting one now, I just could not keep up all of them and at that time no money to pay someone to do some of the work for me.
Stay patient and experiment until you find the system that works best for you, you know I am always willing to help if I can

It is, isn't it? :) If you ask, let's say 4 friends, and exchange comments, you'll get enough quality comments and don't have to deal with this or worry about credits.

I know that all too well and have extensively talked about it, so not going to write more of the same. Just know that I've been rejecting comments like crazy as of late.
Frustrating? No, exasperating!
Anyway, Kyle and Carson have got tons of complaints now,
I can only hope they come up with something soon.

Hi Melissa, great post, very helpful, all joking aside I have been feeling the same way, I have experienced the exact things. I wrote a post to my site and I didn't what to go to "give and take" so I asked for some comments spent some credits, and got a couple of good comments but the others were from the same commenters who did what you mentioned, copied and paste parts of my post in their comment. I just finished another post to my site and am in the process of another one and will not be asking for or spending credits on trying to get comments!!! I hear your frustration, hope you take care of the bug that's got you down, all the feel better soon

It's horrible isn't it? What's worse is that it's just a few people, if not just one. I'm sure this person or people sit there and wait for people to request comments and they jump on it just to leave some crappy comment to earn credits/cash from it. It's so frustrating. I've wanted to give comments to earn some credits and it's almost always clear, no one looking for comments. Now I understand why.

It sucks, I have found that it is more than just one, there are quite a few. I'm glad I came across your rant I was thinking about doing the same but just decided to keep working on training and writing content. It made me smile though!!! I will do the same Melissa

Oddly enough it's like everyone got fed up at the same time because there have been several of these comment rants in the past few days and I've been told that Kyle and Carson know about it now so the complaints might end up getting the problem fixed. I sure hope so because there's too many good people feeling frustrated over this
not sure how they can remedy, but its good that they are aware!!!
After seeing what they've done with WA I think they're magicians or something 🤫 lol
