Authoring & Writing Content

I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept of content curation and I'm having a hard time understanding it. If you already use different resources to research information t

Using a source or two to support your point is powerful.

Referencing the content creating training module, we are advised to use AT LEAST 3 sources on a consistent basis. This is not to plagiarize anyone's content, it's to gain insight on your topic and it also supports credibility. Even Einstein couldn't possibly create substantial content off the top of his head without referring to a number of sources?? You can't feasibly maintain a blog with just your own personal knowledge and insufficient research. But I appreciate your feedback, thank you.

That's exactly what I was trying to say! The only thing I added is that you need to cite your source--that means give credit to the person whom you are citing within your text.

I don't see anything wrong with using a quote or two as long as you cite your source. When I was in college we were instructed to use 2 sources per typed page. That breaks down to 250 words typed per page using font size 12.
If your whole page is someone elses or your using sources and not citing your sources that's plagerism. You get kicked out of the University for that.

If you are research content and pulling stuff from other sources, then rewriting it, that's still curated content.

If you 100% write your own content.. then that's fine, and what's encouraged.

Curated Content is basically taking someone's idea or article and rewriting it and rearranging it. Maybe adding your own little tidibts here and there. This isn't the way to go.

You should be writing 100% your ideas into content.

If you gain knowledge from a research source from somewhere else, you really should be documenting that source. (That's like college writing 101...)

*Edit* - To add to the last paragraph.. it's the internet.. 75% of everything out there is most likely stolen from somewhere or undocumented from the original source. It's unethical and boils down to how you feel as a person. If you're ok doing it.. then that's on you. But it happens everyday, and it's not going to stop anytime soon.

Thank you for the prompt reply, I really appreciate it! My understanding of content curation was that you don't only focus on one resource, you gather information from several, then organize and publish. To me, this is so comparable to researching for a post, it's likely the same. We are taught here at WA to do this through numerous trainings, so curating content must obviously be a judgment call based on integrity.

Yea, you can do it. I just suggest siting your sources. Furthermore.. I just suggest purely writing your own content period. It's defiantly based off integrity. Enjoy

Getting error message " A domain name may only contain alpha-numeric [a-z0-9], dash[-] or dot[.] characters and should end in a 2-12 character

This is the second night in a row I've seen this problem. Must be a bug in the new format.

I submitted a hosting ticket to resolve the issue, hopefully sooner than later.

Hello. What are you typing in for the domain?

Hi primevaldad, theglasshouseexperiment.com, the box turns red after typing my first letter

I was hoping I could help you catch a stray character in there with another set of eyes. Sorry, it looks good to me.

I wonder if it would be best to submit a ticket for help:

Ok, thank you very much!
