I've Been in the Game a Long Time Now.
I'm so grateful for the Wealthy Affiliate community because no one understands what I'm trying to do I mentioned it to someone was talking to they had no idea what I was talking about. I really love this business model it's a lot of hard work but it is worth every bit of the struggle.
you know I've been in the game a long time now. I remember when masking affiliate links with domain names that were popular. I believe you can still do this with the bing platform if I'm not mistaken... But, masking domain names isn't the thing anymore.
Years and years of Google tweaking their algorithm and having new updates made a lot of Affiliate training obsolete. There are a lot of useless training and ebooks that have no more relevance because what was good one year went out the door the next.
I remember when I first heard of Wealthy Affiliate... I joined in its early phases there were hardly any videos on here and it had a lot of training in text and training that would be obsolete now. I remember first hearing about Squidoo lenses and Ezines through Wealthy Affiliate in order to do FREE affiliate marketing and get backlinks to your site It's a little more civilized now. people back then in the mid-2000s were taking the money and running.
I think I saw a drug addict in a suit in front of a marker board explaining how Mike Dillard's system worked and you didn't have to pay Mike Dillard you can pay him instead. I think he just wanted cocaine. He didn't know what he was talking about...But, I think after hearing him I came to myself at that point and said "this is some BS"...
and I thought to myself "It has to be a better way" all these years I've been on a journey trying to find a way out of the rat race. I've had jobs and schooling but I've always wanted to make money online and I hope I finally do it.

I joined WA a long time ago. Even at that time, there were so many fake programs that I researched a great deal during my trial period. I still marvel at the tools, support and expertise that I have had at my fingertips all these years.
I know it's good we have these tools now...alot of things I will turn back the hands on but not this.
I too remember those days. When so first joined WA it was in 2010! I can’t even remember signing up or really what WA was like when I did.
Commit and do NOT stop no matter how long it takes!

Thankyou so much I actually looked at a video that documented YouTube from 2006 to 2016 great changes I'm pretty sure WA had the same changes.
Your post brings back a lot of memories. Yes we did articles for Squidoo and Ezine too. That seems so long ago.
WordPress has really changed so much as well.
It's great to know the model for affiliate marketing has not changed. It's still the same 4 steps.
We are confident you can make money online this time. It's a matter of applying the training.
