After you have created you website and write content, the next step is verify if people are visiting your web page. To accomplish this task Google have a tool Google Analytics that allow you to register you websites and measure your audience. I know almost all of you are familiar with this tools but maybe you haven't played attention to the Bounce rate percentage.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single page visits (or web sessions). It is the number of visits in which a person leaves your website from the landing page without browsing any further. Google analytics calculates and reports the bounce rate of a web page and bounce rate of a website.

Bounce rate of a web page is calculated dividing the total number of bounces on a page (in a given time period) by total number of entrances on the page (in the same time period)

Here, Bounces is the number of single page visits resulting from the page and Entrances is the number of times visitors entered you site on the page

Bounce rate of a website comes from the total number of bounces across all the pages on the website (in a given time period) divided by total number of entrances across all the pages on the website (in the same time period).

I hope this post can help you in some manner.
