Food Preservation
I have been spending the last three weeks preserving food. Canning, freezing, dehydrating. Making jelly, marmalade, wine and mead. I had been given boxes of food as well as everything that has been coming out of our garden. My husband bought a twenty-five pound box of cherries and plans to get a box of peaches. He keeps getting plums and cucumbers from his customers, which I am trying to keep up with, also. I have made several batches of pickles from all of the cucumbers! However, with all of this going on, I have not had time to write, look at classes, or keep up with my own business. So, with a brief slow-down in the food preservation, I am hoping to be able to get a few more posts written, as well as create some landing pages to help organize my content. Here is to all of the home food preservationists out there, who know how much work, time and effort go into canning, freezing, and dehydrating. My hat is off to you.

Look on the bright side. At least you'll have jam to sell online when you get it all made.
I plan on keeping some of it. Ha, ha. I have shared with family members that need help right now. My mom has onions for me to dehydrate soon. She was given a bag full that she can't possibly use before they start going bad. I am very grateful for the food and that I have the means to preserve it. It has just been a lot of work that keeps me from working on my business, so it is a tossup over which is more important. Do I work to earn money, or do I work to preserve the food? The food goes bad faster than I make money, so I guess the food wins out, at least right now. There has been a small slow-down, though, so I really need to grab the chance to work on my website and blogs while the lull lasts.
