Quickly Find any spot in the text view of Wordpress!

No More Code Blindness!

Eventually we all have to edit HTML. I am not a wizard, but I am pretty dang good at it and I know that many people out there justifiably dread the process.

Here is a GREAT quick tip for finding your place instantly. Say you want to ad an affiliate link in an exact spot, but reading through all that code is driving you mad!

Here is what I do:

in visual mode: type something found no where else in the site, like xx. Then switch over to text mode and hit ctrl+F (Windows) / cmd+F (Mac). Type in xx, or whatever you chose.

I use Chrome as is the best browser BY FAR, and will highlight each instance in the scroll bar. No matter what browser you use, it will find your little code like xx.

Simply click, delete the xx, and paste the affiliate link, new image, or text as you see fit!

QUICK STORY:
As an additional tip I used something similar to edit every post I have in minutes! I had to update my Amazon affiliate ID to each post due to a mix up. In minutes I :

- opened the text view of each post

- selected all the code/text (control/command + A)

- Copied all of the code for the post(control/command + C)

- pasted it into Word or another text editor (control/command + V)

- Edit --> Find --> Find & Replace (control/command + F)

- Typed in my original Amazon ID in the "Find" box

- Typed the new Amazon ID in the "Replace" box

- Clicked "Replace All"

- Lastly I simply copy/pasted the updated text into the post area in Wordpress.

(control/command + A, control/command + C, --> Wordpress--> control/command + V)

POOF! My entire post was updated in under 1 minute!
