For example, creating content only for doctors or Asians or females? Or even Asian female doctors, to be even more specific?

Or is that too limiting?

You're on the right track.

A good rule of thumb for any solo website is one niche and one tribe (audience with a specific interest or problem to solve). The magical combination for SEO success AND monetization is
One Niche + One Tribe + One Problem.

The more narrow and targeted you can get while still having a valid audience, the better.

It's also important to pay attention to the "one problem" part of the equation.

The problem can be something as simple as someone needing technical specs and measurements for home theater equipment or something more challenging like dealing with a specific injury associated with a specific sport.

I'm not familiar with the medical niche, but if Asian female doctors is the direction you choose, make sure their is a specific problem that applies to Asian female doctors that you can help them with.

What you want to be careful of is that you're not simply entertaining people. An audience that's just looking for entertainment or trivial information (eg Wikipedia) are difficult to monetize, they're not in a buying frame of mind.

Your website shouldn't be a place where people just hang out but rather a bridge that takes them from where they are to where they want to go. They're looking for a solution to their problem and you can help them with it.

Another useful exercise as you narrow your niche down is to fill in the blanks for...
"I help [your tribe] solve [specific problem]".

An example might be, I help "beginner" comic book collectors maximize the future values of their collections. Of course, you'd want to be an expert in comic book collecting or a beginner who is sharing what they learn as they go... but either way...

... you want a specific niche (as narrow as possible), one tribe/audience and a common problem that you can help them solve.

Your'e definitely on the right track though as far as narrowing down your audience :-)

Sounds like it’s worth narrowing the niche down if you can provide solutions for that specific group. Less competition is always the better path.

the more specific you have a demographic the more profitable you will be. If you're talking to Asian female doctors then you are to speaking to a specific group of people with a specific set of problems. If you can find something to solve those problems and you've cracked it

Great to know. The Asian female doctor demographic was just an example. I'm thinking of a similarly specific group where I think I can create content.
Still idea-generating!

I am wondering what kind of content you are thinking of that would just be only for female Asian doctors. But if you can find content to create then go ahead. You can have many niches too.
