P.O.W.E.R- The key to good writing

While posting or blogging something through your website, you need to have a solid content. Now, question is that how one can write an excellent article, because we are not all writers.

We may have a specific niche(skill) but in order to convey our thoughts to our reader we need a medium and our content is that interface through which we can connect to our reader.

There are some steps which you can follow in your writing process. They are Planning, Organizing, Writing, Editing and Reviewing. Together we can call it as P.O.W.E.R.

Here are the details of each:

Planning:

Every well-written article begins with a plan

  • Think about why you are writing the message
  • Who is your reader?
  • what you want to achieve by sending the message?
  • Decide what ideas you would like to develop.

Planning is always necessary whether you are providing feedback or sending out a message of your own.

Organizing:

The next step is organizing your message. Do you want send some bad news or do you want to persuade? In this inductive sentence organizing is best. Otherwise deductive sentence organization is preferred.

Writing:

Once Planning and Organizing are done, you can write it. First write a draft version of your thoughts. Keep it for 1 day(I sometimes do it, but you can wait as per your requirement) before publishing it. Because sometimes new idea comes in the course of a day and you may see the subject in a different way.

Editing:

Preferably 24 hours later, review your draft writing and check if the tone is correct.

Will it achieve what you want to achieve? Does it need any correction?

Make sure that you have used precise, vivid words. When you are done with the editing, write the final draft.

Reviewing:

After editing, you can review if the grammar is correct . Did you spell the words correctly? Did the punctuation is perfect?

Once you are done with the review publish your article in your website.

I believe, if you follow the above steps, you will definitely get yours readers attention.
