How I Reached 1000 YouTube Subscribers. Fast!
Greetings WA's,
The latest project I've been working on for the past year has been building a Gameplay website and YouTube channel combined.
In the beginning, I wasn't worried about getting YouTube Subscribers so much. Until I started getting a few here, there, and everywhere. From the relatively low organic YouTube views I had received.
It then came to a point where I had set a mental goal of reaching 100 subscribers. That would be quite the accomplishment in my eyes.
So now, every time I would get a subscriber or two, it would give off a buzz of excitement more or less.
So a year goes by and I reached about 88 subs naturally. I came to the breaking point only a few days ago. I desperately wanted to make that 100 subscribers mark become a reality. A.S.A.P!
Which dawned on me, what can I do to make this actually happen? Of course, I thought. I remembered WA and the useful feature of Private Messaging.
So I set out to Private Message the top 25 ambassador members to see just how helpful they can be to make my goal come to fruition. By the way, I apologise to the few that were offended.
Sure enough, because of the top notch support from WA members. I had reached 100 subs. In fact, about 104 subs. But suddenly, it dropped to 98 subs. Some teasers, ha, but I get it.
During this ordeal, I also looked into YouTube Promotions to see what It's all about. Probably because of my desperation to reach 100 subs. If you didn't know, YouTube Promotions is actually quite handy and even easier to set up in your YouTube Studio area.
So all set, I created a quick AD with one of my videos with the sole intent of growing an audience (Subscribers). At that time, I really thought that if I could get at least 75 subscribers with my budget of $150.00 (AUD). I'd be okay with that.
Lo and behold, the next day I checked in. I had to take a step back, so to speak. Things had taken off running. When I looked at my channel at some point, my mind was blown to see that I had about an extra 40 subs out of nowhere. In like half a day. Around 80 by the end of it.
Here I was, thinking I'd be happy to get 75 subs over the whole month duration of promoting. What I had witnessed just didn't seem right, didn't seem fair, almost like cheating and all so confusing.
Here I am getting all of these subscribers, with what seems like no effort at all, when comparing to the whole year it took just to reach 88 subs naturally.
All that time grinding and waiting for YouTube's algorithm to recommend the content to my intended audience organically, now seemed a bit of a waste of time and somehow crazy to hope for.
If I didn't have a sense of desperation and a need for taking action. I may have never known, or experienced what this felt like. Who knows how this decision impacts my project in the near or distant future.
I get that the Gaming niche is extremely saturated, which now makes more sense to be doing paid advertising. So don't underestimate the power of paid advertising. Money talks and you can pay your way to top placements and/or shown to your intended audience.
So every day since, I've been getting blessed by approximately 200 subscriptions per day. Which absolutely baffles me, but feels so rewarding at the same time when considering the time it took to reach 88 subs naturally.
Fast track five days later...
To my surprise, the channel has hit 1000 subscribers! The crazy thing is though, It's only cost me about $30.00 out of that $150.00 budget. Which seems like a steal.
Other than boasting about my success today. I think the message I'm trying to get across here is, do your due diligence and take action on what could potentially better your goal/circumstance.
Can only imagine what the subscriber count will be at by the end of the monthly cycle and I'm definitely gonna enjoy watching it grow.
P.S. Thanks to all of you that have aided me in this process with a sub. Also glad to be connected with some top, active WA members now.

Congratulations! This was an excellent idea on your part to run a quick ad.
What kind of Game Stream are you running?
Michael
I see, I like to watch YouTube shorts. I currently follow those like The Ghost of Caldera, who streams Call of Duty shorts on X, Insta, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch. This is a wonderful niche, and as you gain subscribers and log the required amount of watch time by your viewers, I am sure that it will become very profitable as well.
