What is with these brick wall?

Throughout our lives we all have had our share of brick walls. Not just physically or mentally, but more along our daily lives.

For the past month I been having brick walls come into my life. No matter how small the task I would be confronted with a brick wall.

I thought to myself, “What is with these situations? Did I step on a leprechaun's big toe? What is with this run of bad luck? Right? Wrong! There is no such thing as bad luck. It is how you handle the situation to whether you add it to your life lessons learned or still learning.

I'm considered weird by my family members and friends, because I read constantly about what everyone says is meaningless information. I've done this my whole life. I want to know why and how things are what they are. Cause with everything there is some form of similarity to point a clue to your answer. I don't know if you understood that. What is the similarity to what someone might say bad luck?

Life I feel gives you situations to learn, and in my situations I wasn't learning. So, I wondered what was causing my insanity?

For example: I would go to a public restroom, someone would be cleaning it, it never failed.

Try to cross the cross walk, no one would stop even honk at me to get out of the road.

I am always kind, encouraging to associates at my workplace, but it's never returned to me.

What is similar to these situations? Negativity. I was in the mode that what happened was written in stone, and I can't break stone. Yes you can. Find a sledgehammer. There is always another option to everything it's what makes life marvelous. Without options ice cream would just be cream, pie would just be crust, and fruit would just be tofu. (I was naming something with no flavor.)

When you go to Subway you have six different breads to choose from, even flat ones. You don't go up to the counter and say.

“All you ever have is wheat.”

The person serving you would likely look at you like you was crazy then say. “Ummm.....no...we have six different types of bread, even flat ones.” While taking each one out to show you.

You wouldn't ignore the person and continue to say.

“No matter what day, time or hour you always, it never fails, wheat.”

Same goes for any situation in your life. You are presented with endless opportunities to make the situation good or bad. If you make it bad, it will be repeated, because you didn't learn from it. Same goes if you keep walking into Subway thinking all they ever have is wheat. Open your eyes and look for your options.

I have to have surgery done on my left foot. For most people this condition is caused by smaller shoe size, mine is hereditary. I have a large bunion that has grown bone fractures on the top of my foot, which is pushing my other bones to be too close together causing a Morton's Norma the size of a golf ball. I have to have the bunion completely removed, corrected, put back and two screws to fix the fractured bones. This is very painful, and must be done soon or I will not be able to walk at all. This surgery will put me on bed rest for 3 weeks, and out of work 3 months.

I had everything set to have the surgery on the 31st, then around 2pm today I got this phone call from the outpatient surgery about how much money is needed up front. It was $4000. My heart sank. I explained to the lady I couldn't afford that much money is there any other options? She told me that is what my insurance will not cover because my deductible is $5,500, I either have the $4000 or inform my doctor I can't do it.

I started balling.

Why would someone speak to me like this? Surely there was other options? I calmly through tears asked her again, and she frankly told me the same, then hung up.

I cried from my heart. I have a husband, children, and my job that depend on me to be able to walk. They can deal without me for a little while, but not forever. After I cried, I thought this is just another situation presented to me to learn. What must I learn? I tried more options, they were denied, unfairly. I decided to call again, then call the office, and ask for options there.

I didn't get upset with the lady on the phone, felt no anger toward her or resentment, I never yelled, was never mean, I stayed sweet and kind.

I called again the same lady answered. She asked me my name. I told her. She asked what I wanted. I asked again if there was anymore options. I heard a big sigh, which I thought she was getting frustrated with me because I called back for the same thing. But, it was a sigh of relief, she didn't know my number and she wanted to call me back and apologize for being so forward, it was toward the end of her shift, and I was her last call. She even prayed I would call back so she could apologize because she felt horrible for being mean. She told me of a place that would allow me to put the amount on a card like a credit card, and I could pay it in payments, and as long as I paid within the promotional period in full I would not be charged interest. I could do that. So it was done.

Brick walls happen all the time, and it is up to you to either let it stop you, walk along it, or back up and view it as a whole building. A building has doors.

Thank you for reading my post. If you have any comments or suggests feel free to comment. And have a nice day.

Good morning Millie,

What a story! I am so happy for you that a door opened and a solution was found. I personally know very well what it feels like having a so called brick wall. Mine were in form of court cases included the fear I could lose all I have and sit on the street with my cats and dog. The feeling of impotence waiting for a never coming verdict being victim of a huge fraude case, anyhow, now after quite some years, it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel. I keep my fingers crossed for you.

All the best, regards, Taetske

It's always heartbreaking to go through fraud cases. It goes on for so long. I'm glad there's some hope for an end. I keep my fingers crossed for you too.
Thank you.

I notice there seem to be an extra step in between. that can be used for knocking a new door in-between and taking a unique winning path!

Yes, that is a great idea to knock on the door in between. The door which leads to a unique winning path of two great teachers that have taken this very door.
To succeed and teach others before us, and now in turn teach us, in turn the cycle of pay-it-forward continues.
But, this path must be built with hard work and dedication to succeed.
It seems like we are alone sometimes, yet we are not. We must always remember we can reach out for help at anytime. That door is what Wealthy Affiliate is about.
Thank you for your comment it helped me remember that extra step.
