Feeling Sad yet Resolute

Hi guys,

The following is a story which explains why building my website in my chosen niche is so important.

First the sad part...

So I was scrolling through my facebook feed, as you do, and came across an old high school friend saying RIP to another guy who we went to high school with named Taurin. At the end of this post he put a hashtag fuckcancer. And I thought, not another one.

So I decided to facebook stalk Taurin (again, as you do). He's one of those people that I recognised by face but not by name because we'd barely knew each other in high school.

Scrolling through his wall what smacked me in the face was the amount of love and condolences that were pouring in. I don't know if you've ever been on a recently deceased persons facebook but there is certain eeriness to it.

This eerie feeling is especially the case for people like Taurin who was in his 30's who'd struggled with cancer over a number of months. You could see his life pre-cancer. World traveler, lots of friends, recently married and great family connections. Full of life.

Then you see the pictures of him in hospital, on dialysis, posting information on the type of cancer he had, fundraising events etc.

Lastly, you see the final post before his death. Heartbreaking.

Here's a guy who was really making the most of his life. He was out there living every moment. And now he's gone.

I found myself tearing up, and I didn't even really know the guy. Except for a few hellos, I hadn't talked or thought of him in 20 years.

For those of you who don't know me, I am passionate about health. In particular I am tackling Cancer.

I'm sure I've bitten off more than I will be able to chew. But hey, I don't think anyone would argue with me that its not worth it.

Seeing Taurin's journey has made that fire in my belly only stronger. More resolute.

So when the alarm goes off early and don't feel like getting up... When I hit the wall at the end of the day and can't be bothered doing any more... I will remember my old high school acquaintance.

Taurin, rest in piece brother.

I have dedicated my life to not only keep people like you alive, but thriving in health. I will not fight. Rather I will advocate for love and change for the better.

If you have a health or cancer journey, I would love to hear from you.

Hello, Miles!

And so from your profile space this sad discovery taps right back into your "passion" your 'why' for doing your website. Chris has made a good point, it will let others who read your blog but may not have read your profile get why posting this was important to you!

I feel your sense of justice and sadness in this post and I hope you will find your pace in your lessons, do them, and do the related tasks and remember that one day has enough of its own anxieties so take one at a time, head up, lots of smiles AND hugs with that beautiful family.

Linda "-)

Thanks Linda! That's some great advice and feedback.

One day at a time, one moment at a time.

Please start this blog out by saying,"this why I am building my site with,WA" if you do not make it about websites they will yank it down. I read a blog about a friend who lost her daughter and they yanked it down.

My daddy died of lung cancer and I am dying now. Please use a few words to link it to website making. This blog is good and needs to stay up.

Teddy bear,

You have quite an amazing and unique story. Sorry to hear about the passing of your father to lung cancer as well as your current condition. It sounds like you have made peace with it which is an incredibly brave thing to do .

My mother in law has quite severe COPD as well. She is tried putting valves in her lungs to open them up more but they got infected and had to be removed. She is now considering a lobectemy or transplant. Scary stuff.

This may be white noise for you but wondering if you've looked at some of the non-drug non-surgical treatments such as high dose vitamin C which is showing some good results for COPD sufferers?

Thanks for your suggestion on the blog post. I have made a change at that top and hopefully that keeps it up.

All the best.

Hey Miles, Looks like you have written a most excellent blog post about websites. lol

You are a God sent verification of , His, will. I was hurt in the military and I also developed, of all things scurvy. I have out lived my diagnosis. They gave me 4-6 months 4 years ago. Hoooah!!!!

They have recently been testing my longevity to.... wait for it.....Vitamin C in massive dosages for scurvy.

I love your white noisy.

Your forever friend.

That's awesome news. It's always great to hear of real life people benefiting from natural therapies, rather than just reading it in a report.

Might also want to look at cannabis oil as that is being shown to reverse COPD - amongst many other ailments.

Keep the dream alive brother.
