Creating a successful social platform
I was surfing around today promoting my book and generally have a good old look at 'what's out there' and I came across this visual which I thought could be handy for all of us when building our social platforms.
Now, I know that we are told not to spend 'too' much time with the social platforming but with my book it has become vital that I extend my web and my hooks across the seven seas.
I am also using this blog to play with a few image techniques so bear with me. I am not as good as BIS, lovely Beverley, with this stuff (more a content writer myself) However let's move on.
FACEBOOK - Can't stand it myself but for those that like facebook, here's a graphic
TWITTER - Fast becoming my platform of choice, I love the scope and the immediacy of this platform. I have had interest from around the world on my book within minutes and I enjoy searching the 'hashtags' on various issues and following 'key' people that enhance my platform strength.
For any newbies I recommend watching this video tutorial
PINTEREST - I must admit I was slow on the uptake with this one as it seemed full of woman and art and design and collectables but I have realised that a) there's a lot more to the boards than that and b) women, great, they are the consumers among us.
Again I feel a tutorial is beneficial as Pinterest is far more powerful than you may know.
GOOGLE+ - Another platform that I found tricky and to be honest still do, I need to spend more time here. We build our circles and we share our 'G+ addresses' but to be honest I have found that I am inundated with blogs, posts and pictures from tens of people. I think this is because we are told to share everything in WA but I do find that my G+ notification board can get loaded with minutiae. I have had to delete some people as I am getting 20 to 30+ posts a day coming in. Still learning this one.
I found this graphic quite interesting as I didn't really feel there were time limits or windows to these various platforms but I guess the graphic below shows that there is.
So there you have it, pick a platform or hopefully learn them all and try to spend a short amount of your time each WA session building these out.
I have found it quite amazing in the people I have met and the comment I have recieved....
Get your share buttons on your posts and get sharing....
God Bless

An interesting bit of info, Mike - I'm only just starting to use G+, with little effect to date.
I don't have a smart phone or tablet and have some concerns that if I did, and had all those other accounts, I'd spend even more time looking at screens, already taking up too many hours in a day.
Just out of curiosity, are those times GMT or elsewhere or a universal application?
I'd be a tad reluctant to get up at 3 am for my dose of social interaction! :) george
wanted to ask the same question. My logic tells me Mike thinks in GMT and the worst time is when the America's are busy socializing. Here in Japan I never got the impression the services were bad at any time of the day but then I am not a representative super user. Chinese won't interfere much I guess because they use their own monitored social tools like QQ, Baidu...
yes these times are GMT, I guess its good all the time but if youwant quick resulys then theres the best times.
George yes its more screens I guess. I have them fast tabbed on my apple dock so I just check in very quickly each day and add afew followers. No more than 30 mins or so....
