Sometimes you want your home page to be for establishing your identity and explaining to visitors just what your website blog is about. Other times webmasters like to show their readers a list of blogs with short excerpts of each. But you can have one home page, so that leaves you with a blog roll page. Or does it?

How To Add A Blog To Your Website

Having a great home page and a blog roll page is not only possible, but easy when you know how. Here's the six steps to adding a blog to your website:

1. Add a New Page (not a post) Just log in to your WordPress Editor, and click on Pages and then Add New.

Don't add anything to this page, because it will always be a blank page in your editor.

2. Name Your Page Give the page any name you like. Probably most people name it Blog, but it's up to you.

3. Publish Your New Bog Roll Page You already know how to do this, Just click the Publish button in WordPress.

4. Go to Settings Now navigate to Settings > Reading in the editor dashboard. Once there, you will see an option to tick Static Page. Now in the drop down menu beside Post Page select the page name you just published. If you named it Blog, select it here.

Don't worry that you also have a page selected also selected for the home page.

5. How Many Post on the New Page? Directly under the drop down boxes is this: Blog pages show at most. Select the number of pages you want to show on your new blog-roll page.

Do not forget to click save changes and wait until it completes before leaving the page.

6. Navigate to Appearance > Menus Click on pages, find the page you designated for your Blog roll, tick the box and then Add To Menu. Do not forget to click on Save Menu.

The next step is to navigate to your website, see how the Blog page was added to your website navigation bar, click on it and see the your post on the blog roll page.

Thank you for the tip, very helpful.
I have one question, now my blog is showing as my home page, how can I change this so it shows my home page instead?

Just change the static page in step 4. to your preferred home page.

Thank you Jukkah
