Hi.
IMAGES - The self taken type for adding to your website posts.
I am boring myself so I must be boring you guys.
I have had issues with my website speed. Images are the villain.
Yesterday I changed the images on a website post. Same original images just shrunk by using simple image resizer.
Last night after the change the speed had improved by 50% but was still low.
I have just checked it after 24 Hours and is has jumped to a respectable speed which is a massive and amazing improvement.
I am amazed and very pleased.
I also checked the speed of another page which had all web images from Affiliate companies (so already website optimized) APART from the featured image which was my own work and was far too big.
I changed the featured image and retested instantly and got an improvement of 30% straight away.
I have had great help from many of more experienced members on here.

Not yet. I want to reduce my big images and retrospectively change my website posts and see how the overall speed improves. Then do the kraken thing and see what happens. 😊. I have learnt so much over the last few days, its amazing how the most problematic of situations leads to positivity. Thanks to the WA members. Regards mike
Kraken will reduce/optimize them for you. You pick the size you want, and the plugin does the rest.
It is true that solving problems leads to a more positive feeling about the whole situation. It's really helpful in moving forward.
Oh Wow. I didn't realise that about Kraken - In that case I will investigate further.

I assure you Mike, you are not boring as you ask for assistance for images.
Yes, images can slow things down on one's site.
How large (kb or pixel) are your images when loaded?
I make them small & as suggested Kraken plugin will help. To date I have not used Kraken yet but will do so once I sort out other problems I have.

The images that were too big were anywhere around 100 to 250 Kb.
Once I have followed the process above the improvement was massive.
I'm with you Denis - I want to get the existing images sorted first then go to Kraken.
