Hopefully a simple "Smush" Question - Help Please
Hi Smush users and techies.
I think this is a simple question but being cautious and a bit careful I thought I would ask.
SMUSH - After some good advice on here from experts I want to try Smush.
Currently I have EWWW Image Optimizer installed.
Question - Do I have to uninstall EWWW Image Optimizer before installing Smush?
Thank you for reading
Mike
PS - The picture is of my best friend Bertie.

Hi Mike,
Yes you will want to remove Ewww after installing smush. Just a question, are you on the new servers?? Being put on the new servers will speed your site up, and kraken is used as an image optimizer. I used to use smush, but switched to kraken after being put on new servers.
Hi jenny. I was just wondering about that funnily enough. No I don't believe that I am on the new servers. Not even sure about how to get the change made, maybe site support? Many thanks Mike
Yes, you’ll have to contact site support to move your site. I’m sure when you’re transferred you will notice a speed improvement.
Yes, I believe you do. I used to use Smush, but then Kyle told us all to get Kraken to optimize our images, so I took Smush out and installed Kraken.

Hi Mike, I see your question has been answered. Make sure you are running Word Press 5.4.1 and your PHP is up to date. These are things you may require site supports assistance.
Once you are updated you will get the Kraken image optimizer.
It is best to use just one image optimizer to avoid conflicts.
I did try Smush a while ago, and it took me a bit of time to get used to. Currently using Kraken.
Best wishes,
Michael
Hi Michael. Thank you for the added clarification, as always I really appreciate your input. Regards mike
I Just checked Michael.
I hadn't even heard of PHP let alone did I know that my version was out of date!
I will get onto site support
Mike
