Most of us intuitively know what "simple and functional" mean, but when someone actually sits down to design their site or specify the site to a designer, they may want some guidelines as what is simple and functional--perhaps some dos and don'ts. Maybe that would be a good follow-up post.

Very Good points there Mic, there's not a medium better than a website to either irritate or to be calm and restful. I would much prefer the latter. I think those websites that are in your face, with garish dancing, jumping advertisements, simply insult the intelligence of those viewers who are blessed with some.

I agree , had a person that asked 5 of us to check out his site as the new site is still under construction .... its so busy it really irritates the soul, so needles to say I only read a post if its mailed to me but I won't visit his site again
