The Mysterious Direct Traffic
Yesterday, when I went to check my Google Analytics, I realized something really strange. (Remember my site is young and hardly any organic traffic). The number of visitors increased drastically without me posting on social media or writing a new blog! This is really shocking because my traffic all keeps decreasing when I stop posting.
The culprit behind this mysterious increase in direct traffic, where people click on your link directly, reaching your site. This shows that my website's link is getting passed around through messages, emails, etc.
To be honest, I am really happy about this. It shows that some visitors are taking my articles seriously, and thinking that my posts are useful.
I call it mysterious because you NEVER know how the link is passed around. My theory is that it is from messages like Whatsapp. This means visitors check my website with mobile phones. Conclusion: Never underestimate the power of mobile users.
