Facebook Needs my ID

For some reason, Facebook has suspended my account and now requires me to upload my ID. While this might be a legitimate request, I'm hesitant to share my personal information.

I'm concerned about my two groups, each with hundreds of members, which are now inaccessible.

Has this happened to you as well?

I suspect this might be a new Facebook policy limiting users to a single account.

Are you sure it’s not a scam? Personally I would not upload anything especially to Facebook.

It doesn't seem like a scam.

I am still a bit hesitant, though... Will think about that :)

Thanks Linda for your input
Mike

It's totally normal... Upload whatever they're asking for - keep refreshing the page till you do.
Their community standards do say you can have one personal account and one business account and as many pages/groups as you like.

Thanks Abie.

There are many scam artists online, Michal. Facebook has to verify that your accounts are real.

Maxine :)

Thanks for the feedback.
It actually makes sense.

A lot of "fake" profiles did reach out to me, offering great business opportunities... :D

Turned out to be Ponzi schemes and in many cases, those profiles were not available.

Yep, I won't lead you wrong. Give them what they need if it Important to you.

I had to do this, but I don’t mind.

I believe there should be more done to prove that an individual person is authentic, genuine, and sincere.

I think they should tie it to a person‘s “local” bank account, with a $1 per month or 1 penny per day fee and there would be a lot less scammers.

Thanks Brad;

I probably will do that as well.
Cheers
Mike

Facebook has always limited users to one account, When they discover someone might have more than one account they ask for ID. They are constantly trying to eliminate duplicate or what they regard as false accounts.

Oh I see.
Never realized that.

I opened a new account for biz purpose.

Thanks for the clarification

I made the same mistake, Business pages have to be set up in your personal account.

BTW.. I've just learned that although though only allow 1 FB account is allowed per person, apparently within that account we can now set up up to 4 profiles. I haven't checked how that works,
