Yeah that's me...the one laying there on the floor. Knocked out, defeated, and feeling hopeless in fighting my way into making this business a success. What defeated me? I started working on one of my websites last night late and I got punched. Let me tell everyone the whole story. I worked the 9-5 job, and did four hours of overtime. I raced home, and pulled in the driveway just in time to catch Jay's live training for Researching Audiences and Niches. Yes! A head of the game I thought.

In the meantime, since I was online I decided to work on my business, and change some affiliate links. I began changing some images in my website, looked up a product, and there it was...another website with the exact same products I had on my new in construction website. But wait, there was a difference....his website was wonderful. Hats off to him!

Then it kicked in..doubt, envy, and eventually fear that this isn't working. I know many of us have felt this way. Especially if you are new to affiliate marketing and quite don't understand everything, even if you're like me and watch training over and over. It's almost my six months mark, and yes it's around this time the doubt kicks in. I haven't made a sale, I was removed from Amazon, and so much more. My mentor is letting me know to stick with it! In addition, I like Wealthy Affiliate! I love logging in to hear and see all the wonderful success stories and life stories in general. WA is a more inspiring, and uplifted space for like-minded online success individuals.

SO QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION THIS TIME!

I went to bed about 1am, stressed, and feeling low. I got up this morning to go into work to do more overtime. Then while getting dressed it hit me!

I commit to my employer and go above and beyond for someone other than myself.
When will I be committed to my business. Yes, the few extra dollars from overtime is not worth my business failing. My website isn't where I want it to be because I haven't put in the time and effort to make it what I want it to be. Yes, I realized I was treating my business as my hobby and not a successful business. So instead of putting in all those overtime hours for "the man" I needed to buckle up and commit to myself.

Ultimately, both of those women in that picture is me. I was the one defeating myself. Knocking myself out.

Dressed and ready to go in the office. I changed my mind. Instead I headed down to the home office. Renewed, Refreshed, and Determined.

Determined to make my business work. Determined to commit to business. Determined to be successful!

If you have ever felt like me...or new to affiliate marketing like me, know that success will only come when we make that revelation that we can be our worse enemy. Let's invest in yourself and our goals!

I hope this is helpful for someone that may need to be uplifted, just like I needed this morning.

Amen!!! What an awakening but you are so right. Success is just around the corner. You will make it and I want to be there right alongside you.

It's not easy when you still have a regular job to go too, let ALONE WORKING OVERTIME!

You are doing great. Keep up the good work! Best wishes!
Doug

It is very hard trying to balance work life and my own business. Thanks so much for the encouragement, Doug.

The prioritization in the beginning can be tough. It can creep up on you over and over as your business grows as well. You'll have to continue weighing what's most important.
I'm glad you've decided your business is important. You have some special things to offer the market, but you can't do that if you don't make it a priority.

Yes, that is what I'm realizing. It's hard and stressful at the beginning of starting a business.

Thanks for the advice.

Yup. Just like having a baby, losing weight, or starting any new habit. It's tough until you get the momentum going, but you can see it thru.

thank you Ricia , I appreciate this very nuch . Thoma

You're welcome. If you're feeling like me, we can do this. if we are determined to be successful like so many others here in WA.

Keep up this attitude it is the right one.
