How To Make A Full Time Income With Affiliate Marketing(Faster and Effectively)

Happy Friday Everyone,

I wanted to speak directly to the people trying to do affiliate marketing full time, but if you're here for part time or to dabble, feel free to follow along.

To add context, I'm going to start by listing the 5+ types of affiliate marketing:

  • Low ticket
  • High ticket
  • Recurring
  • Niche websites
  • Your own products

These will overlap, but the importance of this is to get you to understand the difference between high achiever and low/dabblers and this May be hard to hear.

Look, affiliate marketing is changing FAST, and the strategies while they may be evergreen and you're seeing other people get results with, they may not be for you, huh?

You have to do some serious reprogramming as how to attract an audience and what you're promoting because what worked years ago with the algorithms on YouTube, even Google aren't the same...

So what does that mean? You can't just replicate someone else's results, it's just entirely difficult altogether unless you're doing those "promote my videos" you don't have to make them for other gurus junk...

You have to really dig deep now a days. I'm not saying it's impossible but by what model are you following?

Whichever one of these 5 I listed, there's an overlap, but please by all means don't become another "MMO" niche affiliate promoting online courses for starting a business or systems of that...

It's for one supersaturated and two with so many deceiving people who are just there to earn commissions(as much as they don't admit it).

I've seen a few people BLOW up out of nowhere in a couple months just doing these tactics and strategies...

And like I said in another post here and to my group members - really pick something of a passion, hobby, or interest.

I've spoken to LOADS of people online who want to start in affiliate marketing but only want the done-for-you systems...

No work, let me promote a course back to an audience by making a YouTube video out of it. If they were so good in their business getting results for an actual business outside the MMO promote business opportunities to people do you really think they'd have a lot of time to make videos?

So, if it is the MMO niche, what about finance? Show people accounting principles, save interest rates, real estate, and more?

I consciously don't feel good about promoting even the best business courses to people UNLESS I've personally used it to grow my health and wellness niche blog or more.

Sorry about the rant but I've Run across more of these kids promoting business systems and that's what their whole purpose is about and then just grow the audience to then promote them More of the same thing they don't need.

Even the affiliate gurus are hard to find because that whole field is deceptive - but because they got in early, people follow without questioning.

Just this week alone I've receiveed loads of fb messenger messages of people trying to build good will(like you're supposed to), but there business model is just to promote to your a high ticket course...

Especially everyone jumping on tik tok to do this, my goodness lol.

And then when they get to know me well, I ask them who they are about and it's always the same story.

Affiliate marketing has gone a bit away from the whole "niche website concept", and it's heavily saturated with the whole "what do you promote" conversations around courses and what not..

I'd be welcoming to hear your thoughts.

-Michael

P.s. By the way, there's more logistics to going full tile like the strategies but I wanted to take a different approach today.

It's called "affiliate marketing" for a reason friend. Most people who joined W.A. are seeking what they came for and that is to promote affiliated products. Do you think that if W.A. would have had another name like "build niches and blog dot com", would have had the crowd it has today? I don't think so. People are looking for another set of income. And with a name like Wealthy Affiliate, it has the keyword that people are attracted to. That key word is Affiliate. W.A. has structured itself to teach people how to blog and pick niches, created their website, brand, and most attractively teach people how to be a top affiliate. So yes. Affiliate Marketing is mostly "what do you promote". Thanks for sharing your rants. All the best!

I have to admit I got a bit lost in this post. I think your message was hidden in between your rant possibly.

But I think I get your point. Affiliate marketing can work, but we all must look for new ways to do it on our websites and not simply copy the masses!

Hey Michael,
What do you mean when you say "So what does that mean? You can't just replicate someone else's results, it's just entirely difficult altogether unless you're doing those "promote my videos" you don't have to make them for other gurus junk..."

Its the double negative "unless" and "don't" that I don't understand....can you give a real life example(s)?
Thanks buddy!

Hey John, thanks for your response. I get how it sounded like a double negative like if the second option was any better, but what I meant was there are some high leverage opportunities where people get done for you content to promote for short term results and...

Then there are ones in general like if you were trying to make as many blog posts or videos as someone else in the same niche but are not getting much traction.

Like YouTube is no longer the more subscribers the more you earn, it’s about quality and watch time for example. So your game plan changes upon the algorithm one, but you also have to put out more unique angles.

Thanks Michael,
Really appreciate you sharing your insights here. I get where you are coming from better now.

You’re welcome. I really did like that you had me be more specific about what I meant too, I’m sure others would have questioned it as well.

Interesting post, Michael! Right now I am writing books! I joined WA to promote them, and perhaps my eBay store as well! Maybe some Affiliate marketing down the road!

Jeff

Hey Jeffrey, The man with a plan. Nice! What are you writing about? And how’s your eBay store coming along?

Historical Sci-Fi series, plus a couple of side projects, Michael! My eBay store has been slow since I downsized it, but it will eventually rebound! Thanks for asking!

Jeff

I hear you Michael... that's a huge problem to think of... and not an easy one to solve...

But we can always start with ourselves... make our online business work... and share to people how we did it...

Hey Rose,

Thanks for hearing me out. Exactly, and it will never be easy but there’s always a solution to a problem and we have to focus on what we do, not others.

Yes, I really liked what you said there, it’ all starts with ourselves.

Thanks for sharing!
