Are you building your email list?

Hi guys, very simple and straight to the point with this one...

Are you building an email list every day? if you’re not building an email list are you really building a business?

You know the real reason why Mark Zuckberg Bought Instagram? Not so much for the product but for the customer base that it already had. This way he could easily throw anything more their way and people will be likely to buy Into it...

And with that said, You have to keep track of your email metrics. It’s my every day focus...

How can I get more people into my email list? how can I keep fueling my conversion machine? I want 10 by this week, 15 next week, 100 by the end of the month...

Set your goals high so you really don’t hit them but they get you to think like your life depends on it. Sure there are videos out there that are helpful but it’ll come down to your niche and experimentation. You can’t just grow an email list organically like it’s nothing anymore...you have to be open to other channels and even paid. Yep.

Creating content is all sunshine and rainbows(that’s actually the easier part believe it or not) and where you really have to get it right is with your conversion system. This is where many people get it wrong and give up. Hell, I almost did. Don’t think I just threw up one campaign, one email list, one landing page, one blog post and I had an automatic machine spitting sales my way.

(By the way, get extra training on your email marketing.) this is the single most worthy factor to track. You’ll regret all the time you spent creating content if there was no real conversion process behind it, trust me. Set this up, and I’d do it first.

Before you place content on the web you really have to understand your monetization starategy and that shouldn’t be one soley dependant on getting people to land on a review from SEO, social media, etc and then waiting for them to buy.

What happens if they don’t? You better of had an exit pop up or some type of newsletter pop up at least During their visit.

Now how do you do it?

I’d be here hours and I can’t say it all(there are too many) but I will tell you this...you have to really think outside the box, I’m serious. What do I mean?

You have to offer a unique angle, be polarizing in your position. It’ll bring people to love you and others to hate you - so be it, repel those.

On your site, you should have a dedicated welcome page. Here are a few steps to set this up:

1. Have a welcome video. Yes, use video, and put your face in front of the camera, it’s time to let go of that fear. And no I won’t use some story to destroy your beliefs and get you to believe why it’s right.

2. Under this video have a call to action. This CTA will serve to push people to your actual landing page. There I will get them into my lead magnet. It’s that simple.

3. Keep it on repeat.

Start brainstorming how you can keep people showing up to this welcome page, I do it in many ways:

1. My homepage to a “welcome page”

2. My Facebook group to the welcome page

3. YouTube videos to this page

4. Blog posts to this page

5. My Facebook business page to this page

6. My manychat automated email system to this page on a casual “getting started” page

7. A sales funnel post purchase they can be redirected to my site To this welcome page

8. My Instagram Bio - I have it custom set with different links and I can even add an optin form at the bottom

9. Etc

There are just a few. I’ve really been expirementing with this page A LOT lately and the return are amazing. I then can send them into my automated soap opera sequence, promote a product at the final day, then segment them Into my newsletter etc...

Gives them updates about blog posts, Videos, etc.

If you haven’t started growing your own Facebook group, best get on it. I actually see it as a requirement.

You really need to become an authority, don’t just go half in. Too many people hang out on the short end when they could of been hanging out in the deep end of the pool all along.

The strategies and tactics you’ve heard from years ago can still work but these days you have to add value 20X to get that optin - since there are many people competing for the same thing.

Anyways, this is just one way to understand how to grow your list with your blog, there are many more.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks,

Michael

Makes a lot of sense Michael.
I have not yet managed to start an email list, looks complicated setting up different pages, landing squeeze and whatever else. I usually give up halfway through and decide to do it later.
I am also put off by the times I have given my email address and get bombarded with emails daily or sometimes a few times a day, its very annoying. I just unsubscribe so they wasted their time.
Sounds though as I need to give it some more thought and try again.
Thank you.

Hi Linda, I completely understand what you’re going through. In general you want to have three things on an optin pages - a hook(headline) story(what they’re getting), offer(how they can get it).

A thank you page can be very versatile but at the beginning keep it simple. A simple thank you to send people to your social media channels, just telling them to check their inbox or you can even have them download what it is you offered them right there.

I hope you give it another shot! reach out to me if you need help.

Thank you Michael, you are very kind. I am stubborn and will get there. I know the theory, it's just putting it together so one goes to the next.

This is exactly where I'm up to in my journey. I'm hoping that the Affiliate Bootcamp training will show us how to start and build an email list. If not. I'll implement it soon. I've got my Facebook page up and running as well as links in my instagram bio. While I haven't seen anything, it's still early days yet.

I'll let you know how I get on.
All the best.

You simply need to attach an autoresponder to your blog, through a capture form and promote

Thanks Dave. Any recommendations?

Hey Chris, Dave said it well. Attach your email autoresponder to your blog. You can use something like Mailchimp(although not always affiliate link friendly) or Aweber which is what I use. From there you can integrate these forms Into your blog or use a plugin like Sumome and create optin forms that connect to your autoresponder.

That's perfect. Thanks so much! I'll get on it.

Thanks Michael. I moved away from Aweber, as they were two expensive for the benefits I wanted.

Hi Michael
Great article. Nailed it pretty good.
Building your email list is the A &O of any business.
It is important to get extra training and think outside the box, I agree 100%.
Cheers Sylvia

Hi Sylvia,

I appreciate that. Right? it’s just about the most important asset one can have. I agree. This area needs individual and special training. Especially because of the tags and segmenting.

Thanks,
Michael
