Two weeks ago I launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for my patented net-zero homes. I've had over 3,000 visitors to my website and Indiegogo site and only four cont
Okay Mark, first of all, love the concept!!!
Here's my humble opinion - basically, what I would do IF the site were mine ..... please understand, just trying to help and NOT bring you down. You're doing great!!! I want to see YOU SUCCEED!
1. Change out that theme. It looks dated and there are simply more attractive ones out there. I know it's a tough decision on which one to use, but that one needs to go.
2. Too much going on with your navigation (top menu). Move your About Me page to the right-most menu option - tuck the Privacy page under it as a sub-menu option, also do the same with the Contact page
3. Check out some training on how to embed the videos. Also, don't embed them "above the fold" .... not good for SEO.
4. Build in some more content on your home page. Tell visitors what your site is about quickly in the first paragraph and then expand on it below the fold.
Are you referring to the overall "WordPress theme" or the global warming and climate change theme?
When someone visits your website, all the stuff that fills up the screen WITHOUT scrolling is what we refer to as "above the fold" .... think of the fold as being the bottom of your monitor. So then, anything we must scroll down to see is "below the fold."
In the old days, Google didn't care. But, advertisers went crazy with banner ads at the top. So, Google wants to see some solid content (words) first, then..... below the fold, you can have media and advertisements.
Education is a wonderful thing. If I want them to see the video right away because of its message and hopefully emotion, if it is below the fold how do I get visitors to scroll down?
Yep, that's the kicker!!! A killer headline to begin with. And then that first paragraph has to grab them and make them want more.

How can I improve response frequencies on my website?

You can start by shortening your menu and maybe just making it fit in one line. Your site looks great, now is the crowd funding thing all you plan on doing with this site?
The site was designed to support the crowd funding effort but that isn't getting any traction, so the next chore is to convert it into a sales presentation targeted at Manufactured Housing Manufacturers and Developers.
The manufacturers will be contacted through conventional means and the website will be there for them to learn more about the homes.
