New Power Prompt - Private Tutor with ChatGPT Plus
(Cover photo: Instructor writing on chalkboard)
Hi everyone,
Here is a new Power Prompt I have started using. You could Remove "and expert business entrepreneur" and keep just as a private tutor.
"Act as a private tutor and expert business entrepreneur. Ask me what I already know about the topic, how deep I want to go, and how much time I want to spend learning. Then create a personalized explanation plan and quiz me along the way to check understanding. Don’t move on until I confirm I’m ready."
Here was ChatGPT's response:
Excellent! I’ll act as your private tutor and expert business entrepreneur, just as requested. Let’s begin by clarifying a few key points so I can tailor this experience to your goals and preferences.
🧠 Step 1: Assess Your Current Knowledge
What topic would you like to learn or improve today?
Examples:
- Starting a business from scratch
- Scaling a publishing business
- Creating effective Amazon Ads
- Passive income strategies
- Automating business with AI
- Branding & positioning
- Sales funnels & digital products
Please answer these quick questions:
- What do you already know about this topic? (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced — or give a brief summary)
- How deep do you want to go?
(Basic overview, practical strategies, advanced mastery?) - How much time can you dedicate today to learning this?
(e.g., 15 minutes, 1 hour, multiple sessions, etc.)
Once you answer, I’ll:
- Create a personalized explanation plan based on your responses.
- Check your understanding with questions or micro-quizzes along the way.
- Only move forward when you say you're ready.
Let’s build this together, Mel. What’s the first topic you want to dive into?

So from there, I answer its questions and we continue...
Give it a try!

Thanks for sharing, Mel. I usually write my own prompts and am happy with my results. However, after a while, I realized that often when I use a shared prompt, I get a different view of the same idea. So I do have a few prompts that have been shared, and sometimes I pull one from my file if I am questioning my own prompts.
Different prompts often produce a result that says the same thing you have already said, just says it differently. I find this valuable when I need a fresh perspective on the same subject.
Have you noticed this, or am I the only one who tends to talk in circles?

I will sometimes follow up with another question or instructions to dig deeper if possible,
