My Progress February 7, 2026 Full Speed Ahead

Hello everyone,

I am finally accepting the reality that it is better to truly focus on one business rather than spread ourselves over many.

You can make money doing both.

BUT if I want to excel and scale than I need to triple down on one and for me that is my Publishing business.

I just published my 1,666th title. I have several more in the works.

My Amazon Ads campaigns continue to earn income.

When I can look at someone else's public domain title and it has over 1000 reviews that tells me they are doing something right.

I need to dig deeper into what other book sellers are doing to make great sales.

Advertising seems to be part of the answer and I am learning with Amazon Ads.

I also have to step back away from Amazon and look at what other Publishers are doing who do not use Amazon, but sell directly to their customers through their website, a catalog, ....etc.

A few of my titles compete with similar titles of theirs.

How can I do better?

I'll admit I was very amateurish before, especially generic covers.

Now with Image Studio, there is no excuse for that.

I will eventually update all my previous covers for books/ebooks on Amazon.

Only in some instances, will I compete on low pricing where there are multiple public domain books of the same title available. Instead I'll use other methods to get sales at higher price points.

On the back cover, instead of a photo of myself, I use my logo:

I will not always be around and Melissa Jeane's initials work with the Logo as well and I hope one day she takes over for me.

I KNOW I can be doing as well or Better than other publishers who sell the same genre of titles that I do.

At some point, I will post my titles on a website(s).

I do have all my titles that I get from Lightning Source, Inc on a website. I just added a new retail store this week.

So other money making opportunities will have to take a back seat to my publishing. Perhaps when my income is higher I can hire VA's to do some of that work.

AI aka ChatGPT Plus and Claude Pro play a part of all of this.

Ok, I need to get back to work on the latest title I am editing which was originally published in 1907.
