Some Advice On My New Business Venture

I've been with WA for a few years now and I truly value the opinion of all the members, especially the ones who have helped me on a one on one basis. I have accomplished and learned so much here; I know I would have never gained this experience elsewhere.

I believe that people are put in our path for a reason and to always follow your intuition. Recently, after many years, I finally met my son's ex-girlfriends father on a casual basis and he opened a new door for me. The fact that he's a real person, with real success really got me interested.

He's involved in a very successful Network Marketing Business. I took a chance and got involved, too. Within a few weeks, I was able to make back half of my initial investment as a Consultant. This got me very excited because all I had to do was gather a handful of customers.

I'm not saying it was easy, because it wasn't. Now, though, a few more weeks in, I feel like I've hit a bump in the road and this is where I can use your valued opinions on this business venture. I really think that making a new website would be the way to go, but I know how much time and energy that all takes.

Would you guys be willing to give me your opinion on what I should do or how I should continue? I really appreciate it. I don't know if I'm allowed to post this link but if you can just take a look at the business I'm involved in and tell me what you think and what steps I should take next. It would be greatly appreciated.

Please give me some ideas on what kind of website I should make. Thanks so much.

How are things coming along with your venture here?

Pretty good. I added a few more customers and just focusing on people interested in the business opportunity. It's a lot of work but it's coming along. I may have one person coming with me to the weekly meeting on Thursday so keep my fingers crossed:) Thanks for asking.

Just a quick search led me to one of my unbiased reviewers. Looks like you had to pay three digits to be a seller of unregulated energy. Is this a joint venture with your son's ex-girlfriends father? Appears not, so he would be your uplink?. Since you are a WA member, create your own site of information and link to your consultant site? Or...see http://www.zimbio.com/Ambit+Energy+Service/articles/PQFA7F4oepj/Ambit+Energy+Reviews+Reps+Won+t+Tell
Hope this helps. ^_~

This is some excellent information. Thank you so much. Although I did pay the the fee, I did get it all back by gathering my family as my customers and they send your checks out very fast. I'm def going to plan on making a website withing WA. Also, my son is my sponsor and we enjoy working closely with his sponsor (his ex's dad). So I like having real people to work with, makes it more enjoyable. Again, thanks so much for this article, very very helpful.

Glad I could help. Please keep me posted. Working with real people is beneficial. Suggest a comparative review model on energy resources for your new website. ^_~

I too was exposed to this company. I chose not to go with it. While the energy market is huge, I have a problem with the marketing model. That is just me. It may work for you.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you not like about it? In your opinion, do you think a website would work with a domain like "howtogetfreeenergy.com" or something like that?

I just have a really hard time with the MLM model. I personally don't like to promote something that I don't fully understand.
The energy market is constantly in flux and there are many players that all say they can get you the best deal. Once in...you are committed for a length of time and if it isn't what they say it is you are unable to reverse the decision.

Why do you have to pay to sell their product or service?

Hi, thanks for commenting, I really appreciate it. The fee I paid was a one time Consultant Fee. They sent me promotional tools, flyers, training dvd's, etc, etc. What got me very interested is the fact that I knew a real person I can go to at any given time or even drive to his house when I need help with the business. I am able to see his success with my own eyes and that makes it very real for me. Also, I understand that you can't start your own business without some kind of initial start-up cost, which was very affordable.

Looks like your very limited with the amount of states they are licensed in. Also how did you get your first clients? Cant you duplicate that success or the steps you took?

Yes, it's only in 9 states now but growing. More states are going to be added soon, so we are really just getting started. Getting my first customers was easy because I just gathered my family and friends. Plus I never ask them for their credit card or anything because all I'm asking them to do is switch to Ambit.. it won't cost them anything to switch and they can save money on their energy bill. Yes, finding my customers can be duplicated. I'm trying to find prospects and I think a website would be the way to go, but I'm not sure. Being that this is a Network Marketing Company, I need to know if making a website would be the way to go. Any thoughts?

Check with the company regarding their terms of service and see if you are able to start a website. Some wont let you do this. If so then sure build one indeed.
