My thoughts on the Squidoo/HubPages Merge

Its terrible. For all involved. First of all, not all content created on Squidoo will make the merge. Basically in their FAQ, you are told that unless your content is 'featured', you are just up for 'consideration', but you really need to just download everything that you have created, because not everything can make the move. Which sucks for lots of people who have worked hard on their content (thankfully I left MONTHS ago, more closer to a year or more). Also, this means that those who have build up their 'SquidRank' are losing that ranking, and all of the perks that go with it. I think more importantly is that while you will continue to get paid until september, they have stated that those places who send in payments late (which they admit happens frequently) will not get sent to you, but instead will be given to their charity of choice. So, basically, you're pooched out of that last payment if it happens to come in late.
