My Ongoing Experience with Wealthy Affiliate

Hi everyone,

It has been 14 days since I submitted the above blog, 'My Experience with Wealthy Affiliate' - now changed to 'My Ongoing Experience with Wealthy Affiliate'.

To recapitulate, I intend to put in my progress on Wealthy Affiliate & related activities every fortnight so I can monitor my progress & introspect on ways to speed up my progress & make it more effective. Forcing myself to write this every fortnight will help me to introspect how well or poorly I'm doing.

Furthermore, novice, scared, and previously burnt new bees like me may be able to avoid making the mistakes that I'll be making or pick up some/few good things/ideas to do.

So without further ado here goes - first the good things and thereafter the things that I like to change for the good:

GOOD THINGS:

1.Did something everyday towards my goal to earn full time online quickly

2.Consistently tried and dedicated more time to learning how to earn online – the difficult part was sitting at the computer for more than 3 to 4 hours/day

3.Am a little afraid thinking about ‘If I’ll succeed or not?’ But then I’ve taken this as ‘positive stress’ – the kind of stress that motivates you to take action

4.When I’m not doing anything particular my thoughts have been on ‘online income’ and at times I’ve wondered how nice it would be to work from home – exciting possibilities that are worth it and highly motivating

5.Sharing is good: My gratitude to all members of Wealthy Affiliate that I’ve come in contact with and they all have encouraged me to move ahead – such sweet people; it is as if I’ve found myself a very big family that cares about me! This is so important as more than often one cannot move on without this kind of support – both psychological as well as technical.

DESIRABLE THINGS:

(Things that I could have done differently and would like to inculcate in the future for more effectiveness):

1. I should have made a structured plan on:

• What specifically I want to learn in order of priority – didn’t contemplate or write down!
• Didn’t identify, blocked & scheduled time for the above
• Worked my plan.

Note: A structured plan would have helped me to learn those things that would directly contribute to achieving my online goals – otherwise what would happen is that you’ll learn a lot of irrelevant or unimportant stuff that you’ll never get to apply and eventually forget - a total waste of time, effort, & opportunity that leads to FRUSTRATION!!!

2. I should have developed some idea or strategy that would give me a route map to online success that I could believe. Otherwise learning becomes purposeless & a pain ~ you start wondering how what you’re learning is going to help you. For example I know it is important to have a website of my own but do I know how I’m going to use my website to generate income online irrespective of what & how others are doing so.

a.This then would require ‘My Online Goals’ clarification

b.Know what I like and dislike, my strengths, and opportunities in the market

c.Think ahead of time what obstacles I might face and how I would tackle them.

3. I could have looked for someone who is already earning money online that I could contact (face to face) for guidance and to work with – if I can find someone like that there is a lot of time & effort that I could save plus have a comrade in progress ~ more fun working together!

Take away:

2. NLP (Neuro-Linguistic programming)
3. Copy & E Book writing
4. Public Speaking & Presentation Skills
5. Sales

Structured Plan:

• Learn WordPress so I can develop & manage my own websites

• Learn SEO

Action to take:

• Dedicate at least 4 hours daily ~ 2 hours for each of above

• Develop a website on each of my strengths mentioned above and use Udemy.com and similar sites to sell own products therein plus through my own websites – high priority as I’ve been following them (Udemy) for quite some time & earning money online through them seems good to me

• Affiliate Sales: Start thinking & researching on how I can sell related information products on other sites & amazon.com, clickbank.com, LinkShare, MarketHealth…

• Get my PayPal account linked with my local bank account in the UAE so I can get paid.

Comments, suggestions, and guidance from all fellow ‘Wealthy Affiliates’ & gurus are welcome and will be highly appreciated.

Till the next update on my progress (in a fortnight’s time), “prosper & keep well” to everybody.
