Things Are Starting To Take Shape
Hello again.
So last time I talked about setting up my personal blog. And it has definitely been a lot of fun going through the process. And although I have set up several sites in the past, this one feels different: I am much more personally invested this go round (doesn't that sound awful!?).
Anyhow, I am trying to stick to a schedule on this one. My goal is to have 30 finished posts in the queue ready to post on a set schedule. While that may be an ambitious number (honestly, I'd be fine with 20), it gives me momentum right outta the gate to focus on marketing & driving traffic to the site. And further, it takes the edge off of the constant need for new content. That part of the process is airtight in my view.
I can say that I have made some progress. I uploaded a custom header using photoshop to improve upon a background that I created using Banner Fans (and I wanna give a shout out to cm2108 for his blog post - he originally recommended that site). I am really proud of that, because I was able to capture the exact design that I had in my mind's eye - Yaaay!
But then when I asked for feedback, a couple of folks said it sucked - awww! :-( And truthfully, that's ok; I was grateful to get their honest feedback. I have accepted from the outset that not everything will go smoothly, or well. This attitude helps me to maintain focus and continue to execute my plan, which is most important.
Besides the header, I also posted a self-interview. All it is really, is a unique way to post my FAQs and add to the site for the search spiders. Of course I gotta let google know I'm still in the game.
Anyhow, the process continues...

Glad to know you're making progress. We will take two steps forward and one step back, but eventually we will get there!
Thanks. At this point though, I would be fine with taking baby steps forward, as long as the ball is consistently getting advance toward the goal.
