If At First You Don't Succeed.
I'm back at it. It has been quite awhile since I've posted to my WA blog, but that's about to change. See, I've got a new project that I'm working on. So I plan to blog about how it turns out. I s'pose this can be viewed as a case study or a teaching tool in the end. Whichever you prefer is fine with me.
So here it is; I am setting up a personal blog site. The blog itself is FreeStateMents & it's a .us, not a .com. In fact, I'm kinda curious to see how that in itself affects my rankings and such. I know I can blog on here, and I have. But putting this site out there allows it to sink or swim according to its own merits.
See, many MANY folks in my personal circles have been on me about blogging. I'm not going to say that the idea didn't appeal to me, but I was thinking off & on about how I should set it up. So recently, I feel that I have found the proper motivation (and monetizing model) to give it a whirl. I am definitely excited about what's on the horizon!
This is how I'm working it; the site is up, and there is an established home page. I also built out the About Me, Contact, and all of the disclaimer pages. The one thing I still need to do is change the header, but that won't take too long. My photoshop skills ain't the greatest, but its nothing a youtube tutorial or two can't solve.
Also, what I have done is produced about 100 blog post ideas to get started. I haven't written 100 blog posts yet(!), but this is going to be my simple guidepost to start. For one thing, it solves the 'what do I write about?' issue. Another thing is it removes the excuses for inaction. The plan is to have 30 blog posts in the kitty ready to go when I launch.
As for the launch, my plan is to set it off on April 25th, which is an arbitrary date. I just want enough time to have my ducks in a row on this. Until then, I shall be patiently plugging away!
