What Gets Scheduled Gets Done
Looking back at the first few times I tried to earn an income online I can easily see the flaws and root causes to why I did not succeed. Though, in some circles of thought since I have not completely given up it would show that I have not actually failed.
In any event, two of the biggest sources of my prolonged success online were not really knowing what I was doing or even what I was supposed to be doing. This was solved very nicely by becoming a member of Wealthy Affiliate. I now have a crystal clear vision of what I am supposed to do and training on how I am supposed to do it. This is a huge improvement upon my previous attempts.
The second area that I have completely revamped this time around is schedulling. In previous attempts I worked away at my sites when I felt like it. When inspiration struck and time permitted I would hop onto the computer and hammer out some work. Sometimes days, weeks and even months would pass in between these bouts of getting things done.
This time around, leaning on my professional management experience, I decided to not leave any of the work to chance. I created a schedule so that on any given day I know exactly what I am supposed to be doing. This has helped my productivity skyrocket and I am very excited to see the results that will come from this minor change.
While this schedule is subject to change as time goes on and I learn new things, right now I am following the below schedule:
*Note: The site I am building right now is based around improving your physical health.
- Sunday - I write and post an inspirational movie review
- Monday - I create and share a music playlist on Apple Music
- Tuesday - I write a Top # post on products related to me niche, ie. Top 5, or Top 10
- Wednesday - I write and post a recipe review
- Thursday - I review one or more exercises and link to the equipment needed to do them
- Friday - I do an indepth review on one specific product
- Saturday - I post a weekly journal entry recapping all of the posts I did the previous week
I will be totally honest and admit that there are days where I will write multiple posts, but I simply schedule them so they post to my site and social accounts on the specific day(s) they are tied to in the daily list above.
If you're struggling to get things done I would highly recommend you make and commit to a schedule similar to this. You certanily do not have write and publish everyday, especially if you are just getting started but having a set in stone schedule is one super helpful way to ensure that what needs to get done actually gets done.

Thanks Marla, I am glad you found my post helpful and that you took the time to leave a short note.
Mike, this is so right on. It's so easy to become distracted and disorganized when working online from home as opposed to 'going in to work'. A set schedule does work.
We are new to WA and loving every minute of the training and are organizing ourselves, as you advise. Thanks and best of luck to you. Colette and Philip
Thanks PPepperell, I am glad you liked the post and very grateful you took the time to leave this comment, keep up the hard work!
Mike,
Enjoyed reading your blog post.
A schedule is important in reaching goals.
When I started the lessons my first week my enthusiasm propelled me. Now that I have been here nearly six weeks I see that my hours invested aren't as much as that first week but I do something everyday.
If I don't it reflects in my WA ranking and I know if I'm going uphill or if I'm fallling behind.
I see what work keeps me active with WA. Right now I have progressed through the Affiliate Bootcamp lessons at a steady pace. I switched from the Online Certification when I changed my audience that I wanted to reach.
With the change in focus I have found I needed to do different things. It takes some time to develop a routine, but I have found one that produces results so far.
I have had a first page ranking in one of my low hanging fruit keywords and had Google recognize the way I write my blog posts. Now I can concentrate on writing with a specific formula.
This has all happened since I dedicated myself to sessions in which I focus on one activity and then rest. I do the same routine in succession until I have done the work I scheduled for that day.
All the Best,
Louisa

Hi Mike, cheers for the follow. I'll try to check out your site tomorrow. Just wandering about on WA because I haven't connected for a week or so. I wish I could be so focused with myself as you are managing to do. I'm so bad at sticking to my notes, that I've taken to improvisational planning. I get up, think about the day, plan a few things which seem crucial and go for it.
Every day a fail to complete everything but I always achieve something.
Got any tips for a slacker like me? I know if I made a schedule, I'd very quickly run over my tasks and then kick myself for not completing.
Need to go and make music... It's my therapy.
catch yer soon
