I noticed today that my link for the post I completed today is not showing as a https://
If I go into the website itself the search bar will show it as an https: but

With computer servers, hosting and sites their are many ways it fix a problem. Glad you found a solution.

Way to go!

Go to Site manager and click on the site you have. Check to see if the toggle switch for SSL is on.

Danny

Go to to the WordPress plugs > Add new plugin

Search for this plugin --> Really Simple SSL

Thank you so much for taking the time out this evening to help me.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Maureen

Hey Maureen,

Cris just published easy to follow instructions: Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you so much for taking the time out this evening to help!
It is greatly appreciated. Looks like it may have needed to be reset for some strange reason. Definitely something I will keep a close eye out for in the future.

Thanks again. :-)

Maureen

First go to site manager check to see if the SSL still activate if so turn it off refresh your site and turn it back on.

If certain posts are showing as not secure go to https://www.whynopadlock.com/ this will let you know what pages or posts are not secure.

Most times it is an image that still has http in the coding and not Https if that is the case and you find the image just add the s to it making sure you have done it all within that code save refresh and you should be ok

if all else fails or you are not confident to do so then contact site support

Thank you so much! This may be what happened. I do not believe any of my other posts are doing this.
Maybe it is as easy as a picture I did today. Wouldn't that be nice. It was only 4! LOL

I will definitely look into this.

Maureen

I also did the SSL referesh like you said - seems to have taken care of it. :-)

That is great to hear Maureen enjoy the rest of your day and week ahead.

Andre

go to your menu in your profile and click on Websites - click on site management - then in those details click 3+ - scroll to your siteSSL and check the it is on, not off.

So this is weird. LOL

I did what you said - it was the simplest & fastest way to get started from all the wonderful advice I received this evening:

My siteSSL was on - post today still showed not secure.
I turned off siteSSL for about 1 minute and turned it back on.
Now ALL posts, including today's, shows secure again.

Now to run through everyone else suggestions -- just to be on the safe side. :-)

I will be sure to recheck in the morning.

Thank you again for your help!

Maureen

Contact site support.

If all else fails I definitely will.
I am sure it is something I did unintentionally, as I only noticed it today and all the other posts I checked on today shows ok.

Thanks for taking your time out to give a helping hand this evening. :-)

I was under the impression that we did not need to create a gravatar in order to submit comments in the site comments on someone else's website.
It is now telling me I do.

Your gravatar can be any picture, not your face so you can make it associated with your pen name if you wished. It's just better for your online persona to have a gravatar and that's why it's encouraged to do so. :)

When you comment, make sure you are commenting to the CONTENT that is written on the post, respond to what the content is about.

Don't provide feedback like how it's written or how nice the design is.

Hope this helps,
Grace

I did make my gravatar. It is telling me that my email is not associated with my gravatar. When I go into my gravatar account it is telling me that everything is ok.

Without this gravatar it will not let me post a comment.

Okay, so the email you're using on your Wordpress site, you can check this under Users on your WP left menu, should be the exact same one as the email you used to create your Gravatar account. You double checked both of these places and they are the same?

If you have, then I'm sorry, I'm not sure what is wrong.

Whenever someone say their Gravatar is not working, it's really due to the fact they were using the wrong email addresses.

I would just take one last look to ensure both places are the exact same email.

If they are the same, take screenshots of them and send this problem to Site Support, see if they can make any way with this.

Thank you. I hadn't thought about taking screen shot and sending rhatin in. LOL

You know what, I wonder if Site Comments is tied to the email you're using for WA? If that's different from your Gravatar, all you have to do is ADD the email you're using for WA to your current Gravatar account, and then that should work. You can have multiple emails in one Gravatar account, but they will all use the same picture.

If you want a different picture, then you'll need to create a new Gravatar account for the email that you're using at WA for Site Comments.

Hope this is where the problem is,
Grace

Looking into this right now.
As always, thanks for your help, Grace!

Maureen

You're welcome, hope it works.

Would someone be able to help me regarding the affiliate links? Where do I go to change the color of them on my webpage? They aren't working either. I am using Amazon right no

There are many training vids on affiliate links. I should know they drove me crazy earlier in my WA career. Best of luck and Happy Halloween.

Thank you! I think I have it. For some reason if I do a text/image link it will not work. If I do a text only link it works great. So, I have been only doing the text link and double checking each one before I move on. :-)

Hello Maureen,
I believe you will have this step in the 3rd level of training

I am missing it then...I have gone over this lesson numerous times. All I hear about changing the color of the link is ït can be done in the backdoor", I also saw another post saying there is a button at the top.
Neither have been a help

Hello Maureen,

if you already set up your link, you could follow the next steps:
1. log into your site
2. open the post that you wish to modify
3. highlight the link (word/s that are linked)
4. on the top of the post window, the toolbar can be extended if you click on the Toolbar Toggle icon. On the second line, you have the icon to format your text, especially the color of your letters, an underlined "A". You can choose the color of your preference.

I am sure that this will help.
Adrian

THANK YOU!!! I will try this now and get back with you.
Your help is so greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!! It is all working now. I bet I have spent 4-5 hours on and off trying to figure this out. So simple!!! LOL

Hello Maureen,
You are welcome!
