Right Shift Key - No scrolling? Argghhh!
Well it seems I have an issue with my right shift key. Predominantly happens on the Wealthy Affiliate site, but I am now noticing that it is not that specific. I gave poured over the Internet, had my teenage son (of course they can fix it right?) look at it and make some adjustments. It is NOT my keyboard or mouse, I have determined that. But, needless to say, I am getting VERY frustrated.
Here's the deal. Any time I hit my right shift key, which is a habit....I mean who does not use the right shift key?.... I can then no longer scroll down the webpage, or do anything for that matter. I have to totally go out of my browser, sometimes restart, and then open up the webpage again. I have done this several times just during this post. I have learned to copy content, so that I do not have to start over.
So <-- of course that used the right shift key :( has any ideas on how to correct this weird issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I consider myself to be pretty tech savvy as I I did voice and data communications for 20 years, but this appears to be beyond my level of expertise.
I know this is not a WA associated blog, but after weeks literally trying to fix the problem and retrain my brain to use only the left shift key is wearing me down, LOL Any ideas?

sometimes i get the same problem myself my site does not look the way i set it in back office &i spent many hrs trying to figure out yes frustrating!!!
Just delete the driver for the keyboard then reinstall it. That should work because I had the same problem. That's what did it for me.
I did that, and I did some more investigating, and it ALL starts on Wealthy Affiliate. This is where I have my problems. I can go to any other website and everything works just fine :(
There are definitely a few quirks with this site because I cannot use the search function with my mobile device. I have to use my computer to perform a search but that's not a big problem. I'm sorry I couldn't help you.
It could be what they call sticky keys. I use a MAC so cant test it myself but saw something on the internet that says to go to your control panel then look for "Ease of Access", next click on "Change How your Keyboard works". Uncheck where it says "turn on sticky keys" and then try it and see what happens.
OK, so one more thing to try according to the same website. Go to Control Panel, Region and Language, make sure everything is chosen as United States and don't forget to press apply. Then try the key again.
I am sure you already did this but if not then google - right shift key doesnt work how to fix - and lots of suggestions come up.
If you don't have a spare keyboard, I would suggest buying a cheap one to swap out to determine if your keyboard is the culprit. If it is, then you can exchange the cheapo keyboard for one that you prefer. If that doesn't eliminate the problem, then I've got nothing for now...will let you know if I come up with something else. Please keep us updated...

Uh Oh...then I'm with others suggesting a look at how your computer is set up for your keyboard. Hope you get is squared away soon.
shutdown your computer, turn it back on and once it comes up for you to login, plug your keyboard back in.
I would not go that far, go to Microsoft forums and type right shift key errors and see what comes up. It has to be something simple, hopefully.
Ok gave that a try. Gonna use my right shift key on every capital letter here and see if it works :) Nope :( Shoot!
It sounds like it's getting stuck in the down position. Try to lift it up and see if there's some grot underneath. If all else fails then perhaps you'll have to invest in a new keyboard.
No, it is not getting stuck :( Works like all the other keys, but the weird thing is as soon as I press it, no scrolling on web pages and they act sporadic after that :(

It has to be something in the coding with your account in retrospect to the WA. I have a problem as well that only happens in the WA website and on only certain pages within the WA. SiteSupport, Carson, Kyle, other members no one can find an answer but I do exactly the same as you, I will type my content outside WA and copy and paste into the WA. I have this issue in no other area and it has to have the right parameters in the WA to trigger it. All my research and the one developer I spoke with said there is a bug/glitch/bad code within my profile that has to be re-written/deleted or whatever depending on the issue that it is. Currently, I still have the 3 Musketeers working on the issue but I have a feeling, it's not going away anytime soon. I just develop a solution that works and I keep moving forward but I agree it's not right as I pay the same as everyone else, my should work the same but in all honesty, I am more interested in making money and providing solutions to my followers than trying to fix something I have no control over. I hate to say it but it looks like you may have a similar situation if the problem only occurs in the WA and if you have swapped equipment and the same occurs. Just keep that notepad open on your desktop like me lol.it's not funny but if you can't laugh at it...what can you do?
Thanks and so good to know that I am not the only one :) I never thought of using notepad. I will have to do that, because trying to retrain my brain to use the keys differently is just, well not easy! Thanks for sharing!
