Paddling Up Hill After Vacation :(
I had company for a week. We spent the week visiting various beaches here in Florida near me, and of course the local tiki bars :) But that being said, I sure did take a hit on my rank :( I don't know, it is just the competitiveness in me that strives to be at the top of everything I do. So I guess I was a little disheartened to see how quickly and far down the ladder I dived during this break with my company.
I just think that the ranking should be done maybe a little differently? Maybe take into account a vacation break? I feel like I have been paddling an up hill battle ever since I started back up to work. Kind of frustrating to go from almost the top 100 to down in the 300s. If we could put our profile on vacation break? Maybe for a week max, and then if we don't return, go ahead and change our stats? I think everyone deserves a vacaton whether you are working from home or in the office. I know when I worked in the office, I took vacation and came back to the same status quo. I didn't lose my position or some of my duties LOL. Just food for thought?
What do ya'll think about this? This is my second week back and I put in 4 to 8 hours a day in here. Yet, I can't seem to make a dent in my ranking and get it back up there. I go on a cruise in November.....not looking forward to having to be back to square one again! GRRRR
Anyway, just my beef for today. I generally don't have any beefs, but it is getting tiring working hard and then it does not reflect because of my time off, LOL.

I agree with what you are saying Leahrae. The problem is where do you draw the line? Is a week enough?
I am going on a cruise early next year and I will be away for 4 weeks. I know my ranking will be hit really hard, but I am not here for the ranking, I am here to learn and to help others.

I'm here for the same reasons you are , but I also have been trying to become an Ambassador. I was getting so much closer until a one week vacation......

I will agree with you there I have been eagerly keeping an eye on my ranking because like you, am a quite competitive person not when it comes to ‘beating others’ but mainly just because I want to see that I am doing the best I can do!
I think the ranking is a good idea but maybe the holiday option also.
But to be honest I just tell myself, ‘I’m here to start a business, and my WA ranking although it’s massively great to see it go higher, is not a reflection of my actual business and sites I don’t think.’
Not really sure if I could still say this if I went to top 100 and then down again lol but it’s a good little pick me up if you think of it like that.

Exactly Louise! It is an inner thing that I always strive to do the best and be the best....for me! It is not a reflection of my business either, but disheartening to work so hard and then see it fall so FAST when you are trying your hardest to get up to ambassador :(
I think you’ll be fine now you’re back, you haven’t got far to go! :) But I definitely know what you mean. All the best of luck to you to get to ambassador. :)
That was a dive into the deep, get your sleeves up, the higher you climb the harder it becomes to keep your rank;)
That's so true!! I went from top 200 to 7000+ within a few weeks, but then back up to 5000 within a day, then to about 3500, then fairly quickly to about 550 and from then on it's getting harder and harder to improve my rank.
Wow!...thought I was the only one. I've had to be in meetings and took a week's vacation and watched myself fall from about 200 to almost 2000! Life ain't fair I have pretty well given up on the ranking and just started trying to keep up my websites, encouraging folks and not worrying about rank.

You are doing the right thing! Especially if you haven't got a lot of spare time, worrying about WA ranking is definitely not a good use of one's time.
I don't worry about it, it is just that I strive to do well, work hard and and be the best for me. I guess that includes the whole "picture" which includes the rank LOL.

I agree to an extent. I am not really sure what the ranking matters actually, other than a way to keep all of us in a mind frame of continuous drive. I went from ranking in the 6 digits to being between10,000-20,000 very quickly. I had to stop and work on another project for like 3 days and came back and was kicked back down to 80,000. I am currently around 20,000 which is ok since I am not really able to work on WA as much as I was 2-3 months ago. But if someone is on here like you, 6-8 hours a day, Wow, That's putting work in, Really impressive!! Keep up the competitive spirit!
