when it comes to ranking my creative and helper are doing great but my activity is way low in comparison. What does that mean? What things specifically affects the activity?
Hi Mason!
Here's the explanation.
"These are the sorts of things that we look for when determining your WA rank:
Helper - How much you help and how timely it is within the community
Creator - Do you blog, do you create discussions, do you create training
Activity - How active are you within the community, do you leave comments, do you interact with new members
Overall Member Rank - Based on a combination of the above"
More of it here. Be an Ambassador at WA in 2016! Thanks!
Jojo
I think activity is how much you are commenting on other people's blog, following others, greeting others, in live chat, etc. There's so much to do here so every little click, word typed, etc counts as activity. :)

What is the difference between helper and activity?

I think the creativity component has it's own points that are not annotated but factored in. EVERYBODY BLOGS. But far fewer people create training. As a result, I suspect more weight is given to training and questions!

I'm trying to get at least two referrals to help me pay for my premium membership, but why stop there?
As well as what Numerous has suggested, Robert has done some extra training on that topic: How to Get WA Referrals How to Get More WA Referrals ~Jude
Short term, share WA with people you know that might be interested. There are a lot of people out there looking to build an online business, and it's likely you know some of them. The WA community is a great place to learn how to do that, so just telling people what you're doing may get a couple of them interested.
Long term, go through the affiliate bootcamp. It will walk you through all the steps. All the courses are to the left in menu, but here's the first one. WA Affiliate Bootcamp - Starting Your Foundation PHASE 1

which companies are best to work with in getting their content on your website?
If you look in the main header with the magnifying glass you will find tens of dozens. But first rad Kyle's post here Choosing the Best Affiliate Programs - Relevance vs. High Payouts .
There are 1000s of affiliate programs out there, the 'best' one is purely subjective and varies by niche. I would recommend following the lesson that Kyle gives on affiliate programs and doing a search in Google for 'your niche name + affiliate program' you can also search for a specific product or business you're like to affilate with as well.
