It's been one year at WA.What have I learned.

It's been a year since I joined WA, I've setup three websites but haven't made any income. I understand that it takes time so not an issue, for now. What have I learned?

Positives for me:

Training: Wonderfully full of training. If you've've not taken the training, you are missing a great way, as a newbie, to get into niche marketing First thing I did was to work through the training models on everything I needed to know to set up a website. At 63 yrs old, it was great to go through training that I was able to clearly understand. If you're not watching Jay's weekly training, another opportunity lost.

Hosting: WA hosts three of my websites. I've not had any problems, but if I did, the Help group is ready to step up and help. WA makes it easy to get a website up and working.

Questions: The community has been very helpful and responsive on questions that I have had. It's great to have people able and willing to step up to help with technical and process questions.

Not so positives for me:

This ain't Facebook folks: Maybe I'm getting old, put I get irritated with members posting about their vacation or their parrot has a hangnail or supervolcanos....I know, it takes a second or two to delete, but why should it be there in the first place. Maybe membership for these folks is free for some reason but I really don't want to spend my limited time and hard-earned money reading about something that belongs on a social media website, not on, what I identify, as a website marketing, income producing organization.

Comments: I've given up on commenting on someone's website. After being booted out of commenting because the owner didn't like what I had to say. I received a PM stating that there are members who enjoy throwing your comments back.

WA Affiliate Marketing: I get that Kyle and Carson aren't in this for free, getting people to sign up is how income is generated for them to pay for staff, equipment etc. But in reading members comments it sounds like it's the members sole source of internet income and they're not generating any niche marketing income. I find that a little troubling.

Ranking: I chuckle a little about the way some members post about ranking and their need for better ranking and how they may have been cheated out of rankings. My best ranking has been 1198 and to be honest, I just don't care. The only ranking I really care about is the one the really matters, have I been a good and caring grandfather, dad and husband.

To all fellow niche marketers, the best Google rankings and high niche sales!!

Hi..I think the positives will help move us forward. Continued success.

Hello Martin,

We are so grateful for what we, you and others have learned here at WA. The pay it forward mentality is so refreshing .

There are many wonderful perks and people here at WA .

Fortunately when someone is being well, rude, etc, their behavior is on them and it's not going to block or dampen our goals to succeed. We folks in the south have been taught to PRAY for them and move on !

We wish you much success and we really appreciate your comments regarding your family, well said .

Hi Martin,
Wealthy Affiliate has been a close source of positive influence for the past 3 yrs plus for us. No organization is perfect but WA is trying.

I agree that there are too many social posts that may not be appropriate in the Wealthy Affiliate business platform. (One should view the WA rules for blogging, first before publishing).

What is exciting to one person about what is going on in their lives may not be received by others. I don't like FB, but that is the place for purely social "what-I had-for-breakfast" type stuff.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't give a had to others in need of encouragement and tech help.

I also agree that the family ranking is most important. Second might be the Google ranking, there is where that income can come from.

Thanks for sharing.

Bill

Hey Martin,
Well said sir!!! I also am coming up to my one year mark very soon.
I find the ranking system something I'm not concerned with. Right now my ranking is in the top 30 only because I'm not extremely active on my websites due to personal reasons. Soon my rank will fall because I will spend more time with my websites but I'm fine with that. The websites are what bring in the money (hopefully).

Tried and True
