I'm Back (yay!)..Here's What I've Been Doing The Past Few Weeks...
Hi Everyone!
I haven't been around WA much the past few weeks (although I HAVE checked in to read some posts and see what's going on). I'm so happy to be back!
So what have I been doing? Well, quite a few things...
Sadly I need a "day job". So....I am now a licensed "Life, Health & Annuities" Insurance Agent. I just passed the state test a couple of days ago after 3 VERY long weeks of studying every chance I got. I have a job interview this week for a health care enrollment position that will last until February 15th. So...wish me luck!
Another thing that I accidentally "fell" into is something I am looking so forward to being a part of - creating a non-profit business with a few other grandmom's on a facebook support site I'm joined to. Our non-profit will be to help Grandparents raising their grandchildren who are having a hard time making ends meet and affording holiday's etc... More on that in my next post!
In addition to that my 8 year old grandson plays baseball. Baseball takes up A LOT of your life, but I LOVE watching his games! And he's very good at it! So we have baseball practice 2 times a week, 2 games a week, pitching practice Sunday mornings, and he was invited to be on a separate advanced team which practices on Sunday afternoons. That's 5 days a week for baseball....sometimes I think we should just pitch a tent on the field and live there til mid-November, lol!
I am feeling like the busiest unemployed person ever lately...I am wondering how I EVER had the time to be at a job all day!!
I hope you're all doing well, I've missed everyone here!
Lori

Congratulation on passing the exam. I'm so happy you are so busy with your family. Keep on being happy. It's a great time in your life.
Congrats on your test and your non profit organization that's pretty awesome. Sports is great for kids and i'm glad your grandson is doing good. All the best :)
Congratulations on passing the test! I have two grandsons 3 & 5 years old. One gets dropped off here, I feed him breakfast and take him to school as well as pick him up after on certain days, one is into karate, the other is into tee ball. I know how crazy it can get.
That's so awesome that you're so involved with your grandkids! Yes, it sure does get crazy at times!
Good to hear from you, Lori! Glad you're excited about your life's journey and accomplishments.
Things can only get better going forward.

Wow, Lori. Welcome back. You have been busy and it sounds like it's just going to get busier. Careful you don't burn the candle at both ends. Take care of yourself too. ~Debbi
I need to work on the taking care of myself part Debbi, thanks for reminding me! If I get this job I will be heading to the beach for the day with a REAL book and get in some "me" time. I also need to learn to go to sleep earlier...
