When Your 10-Year-Old Becomes a DsgnPop Power User!
So Wealthy Affiliate just launched the new DsgnPop feature and while I was finishing up something I was doing, I thought it would be a good chance for my 10-year-old to test it out on her little summer project. She's been building an affiliate site in the pet niche.
She already had a logo she was proud of and was pretty reluctant to change it. But I nudged her a bit and said, “Why not play around with it? You never know what you’ll come up with.”
Well… let’s just say she took my encouragement and ran with it. I figured she’d do one or two versions. Instead, she ended up creating several iterations — and by “several,” I mean she ate through a good chunk of my credits before I even realized what was happening. 😅
(Talk about putting my foot in my mouth, LOL 🤣)
The funny part? For someone who didn’t want to touch the logo at first, she couldn’t stop gushing about how good each new design looked. Every few minutes I’d hear:
“Ooo, that one came out really cute.”
“Wait, I think this one’s even better!”
And it didn't occur to me that she was doing different designs...
But that's ok, I couldn’t even be mad — she was having an absolute blast, and the results really did turn out great.
Here's one she is ok with sharing and I took the name off of it.

Honestly, it made me realize how fearless kids are when it comes to testing things out. Meanwhile, we adults sometimes overthink the process before even clicking a button.
So here’s my tip for the day: if your tween is “just experimenting” with DsgnPop… keep an eye on your credits. 😂
Question for you all:
Have you ever encouraged your kids to try one of your tools, online or irl, only to have them take it way further than you expected?
I'd like to hear some fun stories if you have one 🤗

My kids are 24 and 21 they didn't get phones till teenage years and then they wasn't smart phones, the daughter had a laptop she did homework and now business on and the son did a computer programming and games development and decided to become a carpenter instead. they seem to be the last of the generation that doesn't have a phone or laptop in their hand constantly, in fact me and their dad are more hooked on devices. So whilst i find it a shame they are not making the most of it, I kind of very happy that they are enjoying the world through the lens of their own eyes as well. I did try and get them to use WA but they not interested. So let her have fun as you never know what she will be up to next.
Yes, it is interesting you say this because my youngest (1 years old) does not seem so inclined to be on devices as my oldest is. It is a good thing to not be so hooked on them because they can be addictive and zap a lot of time as well which is a valuable resource. I'm glad you kids are not hooked on the devices and do what they enjoy. Its a rare trait. When I was that age I used to feel embarassed I didn't have a smart phone but now, if I could go back, I wouldn't get one so soon either. There's a lot to be said about just living and enjoying what you enjoy without feeling pressure to fit in. Sounds like you did a good job mama! 🤗🤗🤗
Hi Marlinda,
I totally understood this post.
My 12-year-old does insane things with all things online. She moves around so swiftly and knowingly, whilst I'm watching, barely able to keep up! haha.
I haven't even stopped to look at this new image/logo creator yet - perhaps I should ask my lil one to explain it to me, lol.
Love that your 10-year-old is - "building an affiliate site in the pet niche" - brilliant!
Here's to her pet niche and really cute logos!
All the best,
Cherie 😊
Hey Cherie,
I'm so happy you understand! I was so nervous to post this 😅
Yes, they're so AmAzing right!
Your 12-year-old sounds like a pro, you should definitely get her input and see what she creates with the DsgnPop. Just watch your credit balance, cuz it eats them up fast 🤣😅
They're going to add an image creator too that I bet they'll have a blast with too.
Thanks for sharing and I would love to see what you ladies create together if you share 🤗

Hi Marlinda,
Oh, trust me I totally get it and it's great that you shared your families experience.
I will definitely see what my lil one thinks of the DsgnPop and also the new image creator when it is released and see what she can come up with - something crazy brilliant I have no doubt!
It's kinda amazing, but also kinda scary how they pick tech things up, it is their era right?
If we come up with anything, I'll surely let you know.
Thanks for sharing and all the best
Cherie 😊

Hi Marlinda,
It's so cute :) And yes, I agree: watch your credits, otherwise they’ll be gone pretty soon! :)
Best,
Maria
