My April 2026 Update: Not Where I Want To Be

Hey there,

I've been putting this off a bit because my numbers are not where I want them to be. Actually, they kind of took a hit over the last month. My theory is because of Spring Break but my pride isn't buying it, lol 😅

90 Day Updates: Quick Summary

On my last update I was on a steady incline for impressions. You can read more here, but looking at this graph you can see it pretty much tanked a couple of days after my report 😭

I did take a bit of a break for spring break with my family as well but I had all my Pinterest stuff scheduled out.

Along with my Pinterest and my ego taking a big hit, my website traffic also took a big hit plumetting almost in half

Oh this looks so much better on a 90 day graph than a 30 day graph. But you can pretty much see in both graphs, the steady drop in traffic between March and April.

Now For The Good News

Despite these avenues crashing like this, there is actually some good things going on. I don't know how to bring up the graph on the PC but I was looking at my site analytics on Google Analytics and see that my Organic Search is increasing.

In addition, my efforts to target AI referencing my site seem to be working as there is evidence of it. In addition to ChatGPT, I'm seeing other AI engines like DuckDuckGo showing up as well.

And here is a screenshot from my Bing dashboard. Although I don't completely understand the difference between Total Citations and Avg Cited Pages, you can see something is happening. It also doesn't show me much about ground queries as much as it shows pages. There are a bunch of pages being referenced.

Either way, I'm quite happy about the progress in AI, especially from a long-term stand point. Things are going towards AI generation and that's where we need to be aiming for now.

I've spent quite some time refining a strategy and template for targetting AI and I'm glad to see results of my efforts.

Now hopefully May shows some more growth. I will be visiting my home country for most of May but will still be able to get to my business. I'm hoping to get a lot of content scheduled or ready to publish in some way but we will see.
