30 Days To Crush Email Marketing!

Day 18

Available For Limited Time Only!

Hello and welcome to Day 18 of my 30 Day Email Marketing Challenge. We are mid way through our working weeks...and boy is the time flying!

Are you feeling a little frustrated today? May be a little tired with all your training?

Let's see if we can get your mojo back shall we...

Listen up, we've got some great stuff to learn today :)

Yesterday we touched on the importance of the "follow up" in our marketing and selling projects and offers. I also hinted towards a special little trick which can further compel your readers to click your buy button.

When I tell you in a second what it is....you'll go.."ahhh I've seen that myself many many times in the past".

So, just imagine..we've got a great product that we can’t wait to email to our readers. It may be our very own product or it may be something we're promoting as an affiliate.

We know the product is a good one, we know that it's going to be of great use to our subscribers...we know that this is a sound offer...a no brainer for our members.

We can go ahead and send the offer email and wait for the sales to roll in....but there is one other very simple thing that we can add into the mix which will increase our conversion and make many more sales....and that thing is...

Introduce urgency to the purchase!

If we can find a way to encourage our readers to take action quickly or miss out then this will without a doubt increase your sales...how can I be so certain, because just like you, I have been sold to like this many times in the past.

There are a number of ways to do this depending on the type of product and environment under which we're offering it.

The easiest ways to use urgency is when we're working with a product that has a limited supply.

We'll see this happening very soon in the run up to Christmas when the popular products start to run out.

In our own businesses we can do the exact same...and it's not just with physical products, because we can also do it with say an info product if we introduce our own personal time into the mix. What I mean is, lets say for example we give away a free one on one email session with each product sold..and because our time is limited...we can limit the amount of sales we offer...clever hey!

In the situations we can’t make a case for a limited supply, as is the case with a purely digital product like an eBook or an online video course or example, we can instead create urgency by adding a limited time offer. We could for example offer a special one off bonus to the first 150 members who buy the product.

Another way is to offer our product at a lower price for a few days...or do what a lot of marketers are doing today...add a count down timer to the product...when the timer reaches zero, the product price increases!

All these examples add urgency to the sale and entices our subscribers to act quickly since they’ll get the best deal the faster they act and hit that buy button.

Have you ever stopped to think why adding urgency to an offer works so effectively to increase sales?

Personally I think it's because it interrupts that internal conversation we're having inside our selves at the point of sale.

Our internal dialogue is trying to come up with objections as to why we don't need it and why we shouldn't buy it.

By creating urgency, we stop or silence this conversation and urge ourselves to make the purchase.

Exciting stuff I hope you'll agree..

So..how well are we doing in our marketing so far? Tomorrow I'll show you some techniques we use to monitor our progress...you can't afford to miss it!

I will leave you with my thought for today..

Yep - i've succumbed to the timer urgency and it hasn't always been good so I'm not sure i'd want to do the same to my prospective clients. However, I did add a slogan at the bottom of front static page that hinted at some urgency to join the group. But i'm sure there's far more people out there with more self control than me.

Hi Sylvia, I think we've all given in to the pressures of the timer at some point as a consumer..but if you are trading responsibly and have your readers best interest at heart..then a bit of time pressure to get them on board isn't such a bad thing. Also, if you are selling a product or service..you can always provide a money back guarantee period which will make you feel happy and also give your reader some security.

Thank you, Anthony. I forgot about the money back guarantee. I will make a note, on the course I am writing to put out on my site soon.

Great tips thanks, Anthony :)

Thanks Carol, Hope you have a great day :)

You're welcome, Anthony.

I like the count down timer. With limited time only - it does make you want to hurry and buy.

G'day Mike, Hope all good buddy. Yes, even the site of a timer adds a whole new feeling to the proceedings.

Thanks for the great advice!

Hi Pauline, Thanks for stopping by. Hope all going well with your training here at WA so far :)

Hi there, yes the training is progressing and I'm enjoying it immensely. I work fulltime so not enough time in the day to spend training... roll on the weekend :)
Pauline

Yep, I hear you...it can be so very hard trying to squeeze your training in...the key is to set yourself sensible and manageable goals...while not stressing yourself out to much :) If there is anything I can ever help with..don'y hesitate to give me a shout.

I totally agree. I have been guilty of succumbing to the countdown timer because I felt that I would be missing an opportunity to get my hands on the product or service. Now, If I felt that way, imagine how many others feel the same way.

Hi Sam, for sure. It is a sneaky but very effective marketing ploy to get your subscribers to click that buy button. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are having a productive Wednesday so far.
