How to Rank Youtube Videos

YouTube videos can and will make a difference to your online business, but you must know how to rank YouTube videos, both on YouTube itself as well as in the search engines.

As with all your content, people have to be able to find your videos otherwise there's not much point.

Jay covered this topic in his last webinar. Having just started a YouTube channel for a new website I was all ears and eyes to fid out how best to achieve this.

Here's what I learned:

• Put your keyword is in the YouTube title, description and tags. This means your videos have a chance of appearing in search engine results.
  
• When your videos are watched to the end this impacts your ranking so make your videos engaging. In my opinion it's challenging to do this with long videos so I say keep them short, preferably.
• Ask people to comment and share your videos and to subscribe to your channel, which is likely to improve your YouTube ranking.
• Embed the video on your blog. When people watch your video they stay longer on your website which improves your site ranking.
• Ask people to watch the videos on your posts.
• Say your keyword right at the start of your video. It appears YouTubse uses the annotations of your narration to create an excerpt when showing them in Google search results.
• Ensure you have a captivating thumbnail image so people are encouraged to click on your video. You can create these from within YouTube but it's preferable to create them externally. Canva has a template.(1280x720 - thumbnail image size) Keep them simple and easy to read. Light fonts on dark backgrounds work best. Be consistent with the layout.
