During these mad times, many people's physical comfort zone is their own personal surroundings. But what about our own psychological comfort zones?
Most of my time I've avoided stepping outside of my comfort zone and I guess the upshot has been a life of "ordinaryness"...is that even a word??
When you get into your 60's like me, all of a sudden you can start to wonder where did it all disappear to? All that time that's past, all that money you've earned, all that money you've spent come to think of it!
Staying within one's comfort zone means just that. More or less everything you do during the day keeps you inside your zone. But is this generally where achievement lives? Or does it lie beyond your comfort zone?
I'd suggest that for most people, achievement lies outside of their comfort zone to a greater or lesser degree.
Stay within the zone - remain comfortable.
Step outside of it - risk some level of achievement.

As I said, I've more or less remained inside my comfort zone for the whole of my 60 plus years but that's lead me to being more than a little fed up with my situation That is, comfortable but not satisfied, relaxed but not content, alive but not living.
To remedy this situation I've decided to step right out of my comfort zone and here's how:
I've had a facebook personal profile page for a few years which I used infrequently to post stuff that was nothing to do with business or making money or personal development.
None of my facebook "friends" had any idea that there was anything within me other than that stuff, some of it serious, some of it jokey, some of it querky.
Previously I would ferociously resist the idea of using my profile for anything other than that stuff but, inspired by our friend and fellow member Heidy Yates, I've decided to change all of that.
I've completely revamped my profile so that it reflects my new image, I've told my "friends" in a post on the profile that they may have a shock about what they will read from now on, I've decided to link my profile to my website and I've accepted a challenge to boost my profile during a month long exercise on facebook from May 1st alongside Heidi and others.
For some this might seem like second nature but for me it's a huge step outside of my own personal comfort zone. However, I've decided it's necessary if I ever want to be anything but comfortable, relaxed and only just alive.
Are you still in your comfort zone? Because if you are the chances are that you won't achieve much that's meaningful in life.
Do you want to be an achiever? Then, sorry, but you'll have to step outside of your zone.
What are you doing to step outside of your zone?
