Backup Your Website
Last January I made a video using Powerpoint. It was to show how to back up your website using FTP and FileZilla.
Even though SiteRubix hosting is very secure and backups are done frequently you probably want to control your own backups. You need to use Tools==> Export to backup your posts, pages and comments. Then use FTP to backup your themes, settings, plugins and users.
I like to keep 3 backups of both the exported file and the FTP.
Today's update is my 'over-the-shoulder' style video. I hope you enjoy it.

Hi Marion. Good reminder! It's one of those things that is usually put on the back burner yet is very important. I have all my sites backed up to my Dropbox account. So far, I've never had to use the backups!
Better safe than sorry. It's a good idea to have a scheduled day/date to back up. I use Mondays for exporting the posts and pages and the first of the month for backing up the rest.
Hi Marion, did you mean that SiteRubix support is also buckuping our websites? Ididn't know about that...
Yes, I'm not sure if it's every day or every second day but the websites are backed up frequently.
Hi Marion
Havn't thought in terms of backing up a website. I will now, thanks so much for sharing this.

Again I am impressed with your knowledge and empty insite. You are sounding like an IT PRO!!!
Yes, I made a new updated video and changed some of the text underneath because of my new-found knowledge.
Excellent Marion! If I only understood how important backing up your website was a year ago I wouldn't have lost my content on a website I transferred to other hosting. Live and learn, huh?
Thanks, my friend. As it turned out, it was blessing. It's good to look on the bright side of things :)
