Still Waiting for My First Sale – What Keeps Me Going

When I started my blog Woof Wellness Bites, I had a clear vision:
To share healthy homemade dog treat recipes with other dog lovers, and to turn that passion into a real online business.

I joined Wealthy Affiliate, followed the training, built my site from scratch, started learning about SEO, affiliate programs, and content marketing. I even created a free downloadable recipe PDF and started growing my presence on Facebook and Pinterest.

But here’s the honest part… I’m still waiting for my first sale.

What I’ve Learned While Waiting

1. This Is Normal
I used to wonder if I was doing something wrong—but after reading others’ stories here on WA, I realized this phase is part of the journey for many of us. Some people take a few weeks, others a few months. What matters is staying consistent.

2. Content First, Sales Later
Every blog post I write (even if it doesn’t rank right away) is a brick in the foundation of my business. I’m learning to focus on giving value, building trust, and serving my audience—especially fellow dog parents like me.

3. There Are Other Wins
The first time someone downloaded my dog treat PDF…
The first time I got a comment…
The first time someone clicked my affiliate link…
Those were all wins worth celebrating.

4. WA Training Keeps Me Grounded
Every time I start doubting, I go back to the training. I tweak my SEO, update a blog post, add an internal link, or join in the WA community to get re-inspired. There’s always something to do, and every small step gets me closer.

5. I’m Building Something That Matters
Bella and Pedro (my two dogs ❤️) are a big part of this journey. I’m not just chasing money—I’m building a brand that helps other dog owners. That mission gives me purpose, even when the sales haven’t come yet.

Final Thought

To anyone else out there waiting for their first sale, I see you. I feel what you’re feeling.

Keep writing. Keep showing up. Keep planting seeds.

The sale will come—but even before that, we’re already growing.

Have you made your first sale yet? How long did it take you? I’d love to hear your story.
Let’s encourage each other on the journey!

It can certainly take months, if not years to get that elusive first sale Marija!!

Things have changed recently in the online business world and it's not as easy as it once was!!

Just stick at it.. try different things and most of all.... never give up!!!

All the very best moving forward my friend! :-)

Totally agree—it’s not as easy as it used to be, but sticking with it and trying new things really is the key. Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot! Wishing you all the best too!

Love this site! Honestly, I wrote content for 13 months straight for my weight loss site but did not make any sales. I paused that one and now I’m focused on my guitar site, which has been redesigned since May 4 2025. The site is over a year old but I’m putting a lot more effort into it since my other site didn’t work out like I planned. Hoping to make some progress.

Also, sent you a PM.
