Progress Update! (first month)
Hello all! Just wanted to drop in with a little progress update.
I've been with Wealthy Affiliate a little over a month now, and I'm loving it! I'm still in the process of building out my website in the home design niche and have gotten some great feedback on it so far. I have two posts on there indexed by Google with hopefully many more to come. I used to write so much and had lost any need to write in the last year until starting my website. I now find that I can once again crank out 2k words in an hour and a half with ease. Go figure!
I have been struggling a bit to figure out how best to pay for the premium membership but am hoping that I can get myself good enough "discounts" through SiteComments to make it work. Compared to the starter version where I was for a week, premium has so much more to offer. I've loved watching the training videos from the past. In fact, they're helping me set up my future goals!
3 Month Goals:
- at least 40 posts on my site
- first $100...? Maybe? We'll see. I'm not sure how quickly the ball will get rolling in terms of sales
- 500 followers on my business Pinterest account
- at least 70 pins for my site
- a stable way to pay for WA
- be rank 75k or better on WA
6 Month Goals:
- make enough money that I don't have to save all of it anymore and have some for fun
- first $500 (though I'm optimistic that I can get more. I intend to work my butt off between this and university)
- 1k followers on Pinterest
- pinning 10 site pins a week at least
- rank 60k or better on WA
I'm in the process of developing a good schedule to learn as much as I possibly can before the fall semester starts back up again. I imagine with COVID-19 and how wildly unprepared my university is, I'm going to be scrambling for the first month. I need to prepare enough content in advance to keep up the pace during that hectic time.
Thank you to everyone who I've had the pleasure of meeting on this platform! The community here is truly a blessing. I love having you all around to help me as I find my footing in affiliate marketing!
Here's to setting myself up for a better financial future!
Maria

I wish I had started early like you during university when I had a lot of free time. I found Wealthy Affiliate after I graduated, which is a bit late. Content marketing is very profitable but it takes time. So starting early is very important.
I find that during the academic year I have some spare time in the mornings to get any extra work done. With all of the time I'll be in due to pandemic policies, I'm hoping to make the most of it! I'll have 3 whole years of undergrad to try to build out my business. It really is so lucky that I found WA this early! :)
