Regarding Medical and Recreational Marijuana, and Benefits of CBD
I respect and appreciate the fair and balanced discussion on Mike’s post found at this link here:

Much like his other posts here at WA, what Mike has done is bring to light just the numbers and facts of this growing opportunity. Thank you for posting this information, Mike.
As a person who has been researching the astounding benefits of CBD for health issues for well over a decade, I for one have already been developing an information website on this subject and will continue to do so. Is there money to be made? That’s clear. What is more important to me personally is making money while helping others. That kind of business model is one that I seek out continuously and one that works for me.
I have seen the benefits of CBD in my own circle of close friends with an Iraq veteran who suffers with PTSD. The 23 prescriptions the VA kept handing out each visit were killing him emotionally, physically and spiritually. Thoughts of suicide were a daily occurrence. These medications from the VA did nothing for him until he started found and started taking CBD oil. CBD oil gave him back his life. Other family members with severe arthritis conditions had doctors that only wanted to keep handing out highly toxic (think liver) and addictive pain medications. Again, CBD oil transformed them.
My own life has also been touched by addiction with a family member who has brain chemistry that makes them easily become addicted to anything. It doesn’t matter what the “drug” of choice is, they will find something to numb the painful feelings and fight off their personal demons. Prescription pain killers, alcohol, heroin, marijuana, food, sex, shopping, love, gambling, porn, rage addiction, etc. You name the "drug of choice" - addiction is addiction.
In my opinion, one should ask themselves who stands to gain from keeping marijuana, a naturally grown plant, as a Class 1 drug in the same category as heroin, LSD, Ecstasy, etc.? Our nation has a huge pain killer addiction and it continues to grow. This is a huge concern for all of us.
I pose a fair question here at this point: If cannabis is an evil menace to our society, why has our own government held a patent on cannabis since 2003? Patent No. 6630507, held by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, covers the use of cannabinoids for treating a wide range of diseases. Many people are not aware of this fact.
Our bodies have been beautifully and perfectly created by Nature with an Endocannabinoid system which contains Cannabinoid receptors. These are involved in the physiological processes of appetite, pain sensation, mood and memory. Think about this.
I don’t think anyone could find the same benefits of CBD in alcohol, unless we’re talking about some of the limited benefits of the properties found in red wine.
How about violence and overdose? If you’ve ever been around those who have been smoking "pot" at a party, all they want to do is “chill out”, laugh and have a good time together. The furthest thing from their mind is being violent. There has never been one medically confirmed and documented case of marijuana overdose nor reports directly relating violence to the use of marijuana. I wish I could say these same things about alcohol.
@Little Momma- the thinking and business strategy you mention will make you a very comfortable and wealthy woman. When alcohol prohibition ended in 1933, those who made the MOST money were those who owned businesses in ancillary product lines related to alcohol. Think packaging, bottling, distribution, production equipment, accessories, etc. Billionaires were made with the end of prohibition.
This is a huge economic opportunity. Many will not be involved due to personal reasons or residual stigma which I completely value and respect. I would like to encourage everyone to do extensive research before jumping to any decisions. What you find may surprise you.
Thank you for allowing me my two cents and here’s to our success!

Industrial hemp has been a casualty of the war on drugs as well and the products that are produced form this relative are very profitable too but can not be grown in most states because it is in the Cannabus family the big difference, you would have to consume a football fields worth and you would be sicker than you would be inebriated but it is just as illegal.
Hi Mary, well said!!! I too have benefited from CBD. It helps deal with my chronic pain and depression. All the best.

Thank you Margaret. It's true on the educational and rehabilitational side of the coin there are lots of opportunities as well!

I have found medical benefit from CBD oil personally!
Thank you for sharing and your feedback @ everyone.
@ Guinea- yes, hemp has a long and interesting history in both the USA and abroad. You are right about hemp. I foresee US hemp farms starting up again in the very near future.
@ Ann- I am so glad you found relief with the use of CBD oil. It is quite an amazing thing, isn't it? And, the best part beyond that it works is that it is all natural.
