After the beginning

A follow up from my first WA post ‘Getting This Party Started’, gone through all the lessons and tasks from section 2, moving on to the third, but in the mean time….

A little customisation of Wordpress features and my Website’s theme, getting more familiar with it all. Still a few challenges, thealtered code I made for a better customised feel was reverted backafter the theme update. Something to look at in the future when Ihave more time.

The learning arc

Some iterations over insights from last section, though is good to keep focus on he important actions at hand. Plus it means moreactivity has been taken for building out my website’s content. Now have half a dozen or so blog posts up there now, so moving along nicely.

I still require a further look into my theme layout, now that I have a few posts. Getting time to work out a good compromise for blog roll and home page features. This will require a deeper look into my theme’s control over pages.

Having your site indexed by google is inevitable, google will always find your site if there is a link to it somewhere. They crawl everything and index everything, the challenge is to get it ranked highly. I did notice that my page speed test was quite slow –something I’ve always optimised manually through code, will have to look into Wordpress Plugins for some solutions – if any suitable.

Familiarity - not yet

There has been a slight increased participation role on my part within Wealthy Affiliate, mainly due to the lessons action steps. This has gotten me a few comments on my pages, made several to others and have discovered a number of interesting blogs from the diverse range of WA members. Even some worthy of keeping an eye on for further updates.

Now it’s time for the next alluring section of ‘Making Money’, what we are all here for. So the process will mainly be the same- go through the lessons, action the tasks at hand, build up my website, engage more with the community and maybe make some friends along the way….
